These are the only 4 cd's I've had in the car for over a year now. I have streaming too, but these are driving albums!

The latest arrival in my 'I only buy music related books' special interest, along with the last few.
By way of PWEI, The Prodigy and Lo Fidelity Allstars I ended up listening to Audio Bullys over the weekend and now the Ego War album is on repeat. I do own the cd but haven't actively listened to it for 15 years. It's brilliant, even if it's just nostalgia.
First gig of the year last night, Stop Making Sense with Duncan out of Dutch Uncles being extraordinarily good as David Byrne.
A slight rewriting of 'Two Princes' as 'Two Nonces.'
Made pancakes tonight because don't tell me when to eat food. The last one ended up reminding me of the Echo and the Bunnymen logo.
Love the coffee the aeropress makes but often feel like I'm on the brink of disaster when pushing.
My standard reply to any online mention of Part Chimp is to type
'Part Chimp rock so hard.'
An amazing and underrated band, and yes, always astonishingly loud!
And they are gone, like the swallows...
They are supporting The Cure in France this summer, suggests there will be other dates. They are just as you expect them to be live, very stylish.
Growing up in Redditch, AATT are part of my DNA. I went to the same school as Budgie ( he was in my sister's year) and later worked with him at the town's Our Price records. Also lived on the same street as his parents! I only saw them once, in London in 1988. An excellent show.
The rest of my recent purchases. In 3 posts...
I didn't think this would ever get officially released, I rinsed it when it was released online however many years ago. Trawling the Rough Trade sale and there it is...Pet Sounds in the Key of Dee by Bullion. ๐
I've been almost fully retro so far this year and I'm not sure why.

Best word in ages today.
Mrs Shimmetry nearly lost the plot when we couldn't get a very good viewpoint last time we saw Aldous at Bristol O2, not taking any chances this time!
This was my view for Black Country New Road last year, they are my go to seats now at the Town Hall!
I had to scroll way too far to find this, but thank you.
We are on the side balcony like mock royalty.
Hella name
Pip's wondering if there is any cheese involved in tonight's dinner.
Top sis. I never got to a gig at the Odeon, though I did see The Spy Who Loved Me, King Kong and The Doors there. They are films, haha.
The journey back home is almost as legendary as the gig amongst my mates. Simon's mark 1 escort had some sort of gearbox issue and we drove all the way back to Bromsgrove in second gear. Dave and I fell asleep and Simon recently admitted he'd fallen asleep at one point too but somehow didn't crash.
The exact first gig I really wanted to go to. I didn't.
Can I start a thing where you post your second ever gig, cos mine is amazing. I even made a pilgrimage back to the venue when I went to see The Breeders the other year. Cocteau Twins at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, 1986. Cheers.
Was so expecting that penalty shootout to be a horror show, but I was very wrong. It was perfect, even Mepham missing made it more so. Big up Bostock, indeed.
Sweet! I was at the Lemondrops too, and coincidentally my wife was as well. I didn't meet her for another fifteen years, but we had been in the same room! Wednesdays at the Powerhouse were brilliant too, well worth the taxi back to Redditch at 2am.
Post a pic of the venue where you saw your first concert and the band or artist.
Probably less cool than yours now, but as a just turned 17 year old in June 1986, The Mission at The Powerhouse was everything.
