What is your 'why'? This weekend ANBE Board and Staff gathered for our annual retreat to refocus on our mission and engage in strategic planning as we plan for challenges and opportunities ahead. A big thanks to Fox Haven Farm for hosting us again this year!

Something you may not know about me is that I was a classroom teacher for a decade! I made the leap just this past year to leave and work part time for a nature non-profit called the Association for Nature-Based Education. I LOVE what I do there. Check it out at @naturebased.bsky.social!

Our careers are not linear. There are times of huge growth that everyone can see, and there are times of introspection and learning that only you can see. Sound off if you know what I mean! Don't diminish the strides you've taken in these times of nurturing cultivation of your craft.

She urged us to remember that we are not living our careers, we are living our LIVES. I really took that to heart as I prepared to be a mother, and it has been an immense honor.

So, that's mainly what I've been up to for the past few years, among other things I'm excited to share with you all! 💖

Before our kid was born, I was taking classes online at BlumVox Studios with @blumspew.bsky.social. We had a special guest one evening, the incredible Jennifer Hale. I asked her how voice actors balanced the responsibilities of parenting and their work. Her response really struck a chord with me:

I had the great privilege of playing Jessie in an audio drama called "Survivors' Station" alongside some other incredibly talented voice actors. Definitely a surreal experience as we recorded largely during the pandemic.
