If you don’t want someone else’s sexuality to be “forced” on you, then don’t post any pics of your opposite sex partners or spouse, or your “family photos”.

This is a Pride Month post.

Teachers know that class size matters; smaller classes mean each student gets more attention, teachers can focus more on instruction and building relationships, and less on classroom management and behavior issues, and the learning experience will improve for all concerned.

The Michigan State Board of Education today passed a resolution on smaller class sizes--major points include:

• priority should be given to funding for the Fiscal Year 2026 budget to allow high poverty schools to hire more teachers to lower the student to teacher ratio in K-3 classrooms;

Cut what it takes for schools to be successful, then use declining test scores as a rationale to cut even more. It's a recipe for disaster. #SupportPublicSchools @mrobmsu.bsky.social

Sounds like private school vouchers…

“Hey, here’s a voucher for $6500! Now your kid can go to any elite private school of your choice!”

“Um, the private school we want charges $32,000 a year, and won’t accept my child.”

Our neighbor to the North is lead by a brilliant economist, who is tough, but fair and decent.

Our neighbor to the South is lead by a brilliant engineer, who is tough, but fair and decent.

We are run by a total ignoramus who is flawed in every way a human being can be & is destroying our country.

"The vast majority of American parents—and voters—believe that the schools their children attend are doing a good job, and want them funded by their tax dollars. And they want those schools, and their kids’ education to continue to be of high quality." ~Mitchell Robinson @mrobmsu.bsky.social

Imagine the biggest problem in your life being about which bathroom a total stranger uses.

Imagine pretending random people you'll never meet are somehow victimizing you with their existence.

Imagine being that hard up for troubles that you have to invent them just so you can play the victim.

The People for Public Education rally at the State Capitol in Lansing was such a great event! And always so much fun to share the stage with my fellow State Board of Education colleague, Dr. Pamela Pugh!

I ran for the SBE because I was sick and tired of the attacks on public education—attacks on our children, our teachers, and our schools.

Look, I’ve never bought in to the whole “American exceptionalism” thing, but if we’re so exceptional we should be able to get an extrajudicially extradited prisoner back from El Salvador, and maybe try him for the crimes he supposedly committed in court, like our laws require.

This administration is eliminating the Department of Education, cutting school lunch programs, and extraditing immigrants to brutal prisons in foreign countries.

A democracy is judged by how it treats children and prisoners—the most vulnerable among us.
