To me 'starter' feels the way it would naturally arise in the Pokemon world, how it did irl as a fan term. Like how'd you start? Who was your starter? intro to being a trainer? What got you started on your journey? 'First Partner Pokemon' feels corporate, unnatural, it's what GameFreak insists.

yeah i specifically mean a shiny texture. they gave a shiny to magearna in gen 8. its odd that they designed a texture for ash greninja but didnt bother with the mythical until the next generation.

IVE BEEN LAUGHING MY ASS OFF AT ALL THE CONTRIVANCES ON THIS REWATCH! My absolute favorite so far is when Anakin and grievous are exchanged as prisoners and Anakin is dragged unconscious right next to grievous and wakes up the exact second he’s off screen. I think that’s the closest they get.

You know I guess this does sort of enforce they they give you a second starter in XY, and the Lucario. Although even then the sheer amount of mega stones locked to post game is really odd. Trading them was nice to do a playthrough with mega absol. if only they weren’t key items in ZA…
