Train Dreams.

Not particularly interested in festival reaction type posts, but I saw what is *currently* my personal pick for the best of Sundance.

Soul igniting type movie. Will be thinking about this one for a very long time.

I hate film twitter post-movie reactions, mostly because they all read the same and sound corny.

But I will say this, a huge fuck yes to this. Haunting, sweaty, tragic— the kind of movie that I want to watch every year for the rest of my life.

I always felt like his work in The Great Debaters was really overlooked.

A still from Sleepwalk (1986)

A still from Sleepwalk (1986)

Rest in peace, Tony Todd. A towering, prolific figure who brought so much to the screen. Candyman is a legendary performance on its own level, but I also somehow always wind up thinking about his work in Sara Driver’s Sleepwalk (1986). He was so magnetic. What a loss.

The 3rd true thing is that Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors to walk this earth.

Two true things about #Gladiator2

Colosseum battles with sharks & rhinos are endlessly cool.

Having Paul Mescal essentially be Maximus 2.0 sounds like a cool idea, but it’s ultimately a reminder that very few actors had the level of magnetism Crowe had in 2000.
