I have nothing to say that matches the gravity of the situation. I just want peace and safety for everyone targeted by the insane whims of a madman.

This is so, so well-articulated.

That's great to hear! I've only played around with Godot a bit but that's been my assumption - that I'd want to use it for projects where I can work with its intended paradigms. Sounds like I should spend some more time with it in the future!

I'm curious about the performance of this in Godot - I've thought about doing similar things but the prospect of writing and optimizing in C++ seems like it would undercut a lot of the good parts about working in the engine. How's your experience with it been?

thoughts on today:

1) the protests are good, actually

2) you should go to one of you can

3) it will do you good to see how many other people also hate this guy

4) you might meet people who you can organize with

5) there are more of us than there are of them

6) we are going to win

at the moment you speak the wish you appear in your own living room. nothing seems different. checking the clock reveals that it's only a few hours later, the same evening. from the other room you hear a tinny mashup of 90s pop music from a phone speaker. through the windows a bright white light...

we could be out here building resilient midsize companies in a vibrant creative industry but apparently we need another 5-10 years of failures trickling up the power structure until they can pivot to being outdated and wrong about the next thing

yup! funding 10 or 100 small projects instead of one large project is lower risk and perhaps more profitable on average, but a) is less likely to generate "IP" that boosts valuation, and b) is harder to claim individual credit for as an executive, so they gamble and lose and face no consequences

this is a really interesting thread! i especially appreciate the interrogation of "common sense" ideas about drawing.

i thought i'd compile some suggestions of my own, for people interested in drawing more or getting more comfortable with drawing.

Thank you! I've been wanting to add to my little McHenries library for a while since y'all stopped doing the occasional Patreon zines so I was thrilled to see the shop open. Looking forward to filling my house with more cool art!

Extremely excited to get physical copies of these!

One question: I noticed that the NonCanon 2025 bundle is (slightly) more expensive than the separate individual items. Is there a reason to get the bundle specifically or is it just for ordering convenience?

The wise among us now understand that the video game industry is a machine designed to create layoffs. Games are a vestigial, incidental byproduct that is unfortunately required to gather the raw material for the layoffs. Scientists are working hard to find a way to remove this necessity

I was going to answer this earnestly but it's more absurd than I realized

Dark money group offers influencers $1,500 for posts attacking Chicago Democratic primary candidate Progressive House candidate Kat Abughazaleh told MS NOW the secretive campaign is “filled with false and defamatory claims.”

HOLY SHIT.

A dark money group, hidden behind a bunch of shell companies, is paying influencers thousands of dollars PER POST to attack @katmabu.bsky.social on social media a month before her election.

Thank you to the people who declined the money and went forward with this. So who's behind this?

PANEL 1: NARRATOR: "Cultivating the measured NPR cadence and placid deference to the military that characterizes the ideal neoliberal subject, Clark Kent returns to the editorial meeting..." A group of DAILY PLANET reporters are in a meeting, Clark Kent is responding to a question from his boss. CLARK: "Well, chief, the bombing campaign--"

PANEL 2: Clark is talking and the other reporters and co-workers look unhappy. CLARK: "Obviously war in the region is not-ah-"ideal," but regime change could ultimately provide socioeconomic benefits that far outweigh the regrettable civilian casualties..." CLARK (thinking): "As Superman, last son of Krypton, these words of course sicken me; however, it's Clark Kent's job to manufacture consent!"

PANEL 3: (inset in a larger panel) One reporter is whispering to another. REPORTER: "Kent is such an off-putting sociopath" REPORTER 2: "I hope he kills himself". An arrow points to this inset panel that reads "Thanks to super-hearing" from Clark's ear. Clark is smiling and thinking to himself. CLARK (thinking): "Looks like my secret identity as Clark Kent is safe...FOR NOW!"

She’s a serious candidate; at this point I think most people dismissing her seriousness are at least partially motivated by misogyny; and this is a clearer articulation of a progressive foreign policy than I’ve seen anyone else running for office make

The entire Democratic strategy debate — "moderate" or move left? fight or compromise? — is based on a misreading of data. Voters don't think Dems are too progressive; they think Dems are weak. The actual math on what to do about this isn't even close!

They want to scare people out of posting ICE-critical content, because they know these posts are turning even their supporters against them. But the better option is to take a page out of their playbook and flood the zone.

Why chasing twitter's approval doesn't work The opinions you believe are universal are being fed to you by an algorithm designed to show you what you want.

Today's Load-bearing Tomato addresses the age old question:

"why don't the devs just [SOCIAL MEDIA OPINION]"

It turns out, "a lot of reasons", but if you never have to test your ideas, you never have to discover why they're not any good.
