Cover image: Pictured is a regenerating root from an Arabidopsis thaliana leaf. Akansha Ganguly et al. detached plant leaves to study the mechanisms of stress mitigation associated with wound repair. The authors found that plant-specific PLETHORA transcription factors activate the ATG8 gene, which initiates recycling of damaged cell components to decrease intracellular stress and allow stem cells to differentiate. ATG8 is not activated if the plant is simply forming a callus, rather than regenerating roots. The results reveal how plant-specific autophagy regulators interact with intracellular stress signaling to aid in wound repair. See the article by Ganguly et al., e2513954123. Now on the Cover @pnas.org News, Delightful to see @akanshaganguly.bsky.social Journey from stress to regeneration, from leaf to root featured on cover. Akansha, you made it, very well done, congratulations.

Confused writing is usually a symptom of confused thinking. As we struggle to clarify writing, we clarify our thoughts. AI writing aids rob us of that struggle, leaving clean-looking text and thoughts still confused for lack of inspection. Writing is not just a product; it is a diagnostic tool.

Friday Flower 003: Antirrhinum majus 🐉✨
Snapdragons are icons of floral symmetry. Their corollas are bilaterally symmetrical with dorsal (d), lateral (l), and ventral (v) petals.
Mutations in CYCLOIDEA produce peloric flowers with all ventral petals in radial symmetry.

I had the incredible opportunity to visit @ird-fr.bsky.social at Montpellier, France. A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Pascal Gantet for warmly hosting me for over a month!
This visit wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of Prof. Shri Ram Yadav, CEFIPRA, and IIT Roorkee.
