For some reason I have no recollection of that game! I must have been there so can’t understand why.

Started playing Saturday football in 82 so missed a lot of games after that.

Generally such a different experience going to the match today than in my youth.

Seem to recall a little trouble outside as well that day, lots of police running around as I walked down Saltergate with my grandad.

Here’s a thought, a chat about all in the 200 club, 200 appearances, 200 goals, 200 assists, £200,000 transfer fee…… no research so not even sure if there any names in that group but it could be a thing?

When they first started back at Saltergate I hated it (said to my grandad, “the games gone!”) but they came to be part of the matchday experience and whatever the team did you knew the spireettes would be on form, was a bit sad when they were ditched! I think I would prefer them to the light show!
