Yeah I’m generally annoyed by them, but I like the idea that this one can be mixed in as an expansion to the base game.

This game absolutely rips. The sequel, too, though it ramps up the complexity much much faster.

Yeah so it’s definitely crew-like with a few key tweaks:
1. Exclusively 2-player
2. Its instructions about who needs to win or lose which trick when are delivered visually, in the form of a map.
3. You get to push a little boat around the table

A thing I prefer to doomscrolling is this little 2-player cooperative trick-taking game called Sail. It’s extremely hard, but also visually delightful (with screen-printed wooden components and art by the unrivaled Weberson Santiago). We play, and mostly lose, during dinner. #boardgames
