But to your 2nd point, I believe the Dems can win by running left.
I believe that is the ONLY way out of this mess.
If they run center, we’ll be right back here again in a few years. Or worse.

Well, if 2022 wasn’t clear enough, 2024 surely was.
The center right in the US doesn’t care about rule of law, they care about comfort for themselves and smug superiority over anyone less fortunate. They will flip back to MAGA at the first sign of actual change. Won’t be part of a winning coalition
I call my own state out all the time. If he thinks he’s fed up, imagine how fed up WE are with our own state!
That’s not what that guy was saying, though. He was saying that red states (and everyone in them, no matter how they voted) should be excised like a cancer. Communal punishment.
Right, and it’s a combination we already tried without success. Biden tried hard to appease the right/center and was elected due to enormous support of the left. His centrist policies failed to win over the right, and MAGA grew stronger while the left became disillusioned.
Same! And yes, I was talking about the other guy.
So if you think blue states are being held hostage by red states, how can you not see that blue voters (and the disenfranchised, like children) are likewise held hostage by their red-supporting neighbors?
He’s a troll or a bot, not worth the time. I blocked him.
🔥 “I’m so glad people are finally waking up to your cruelty — and to the idiocy of your star disciple Pete Hegseth.”

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.
Well, you are a fool then, in addition to a bigot.
To imagine yourself or your community as better or immune is the epitome of American exceptionalism. You would dismiss all the children, all the marginalized people, and all those fighting for a better, more just future.
That’s a shitty take. There are lots of Floridians who don’t support Republicans. I guess you would hold them all responsible for the way their neighbors voted?
In the same way, one could dismiss the entire population of the US because of how a majority of the population voted.
Which is why we don’t really want to follow the Hungarian model. That was Biden’s and Harris’s downfall—trying so hard to appeal to conservatives (who were never going to support them) that they abandoned their base.
We need to forge a different path, if we want to overcome fascism.
Man, when you compare the bravery of every day Minnesotans to the overpaid cops it’s astounding
A mass shooting that took the lives of eight children should stop this country in its tracks. Instead, the Shreveport tragedy disappeared from the headlines in a day. We cannot allow this level of violence to fade into background noise. Ending America’s gun‑violence epidemic is a moral oblligation.
Emails released on Monday by California’s attorney general show Amazon allegedly colluding with other companies to raise the prices of pet treats, khaki pants, eyedrops and other products sold online
AOC is calling for a federal freeze on new AI data centers. No more billionaire "free-riding" at the expense of your electric bill and your water. 📉

1. As Jared Kushner heads to Pakistan to represent the United States in critical talks with Iran, the media is ignoring a historic corruption scandal.
Kushner is serving in this role while on the payroll of the Saudi government.
Let's look at the data.

John Roberts' wife is not the only Supreme Court spouse to shake down people with business before the court to give bribes. Ginni Thomas has a "consulting firm" (AKA a PO Box for checks) to funnel money to Clarence. #Corruption
New, from me: Take the Palantir manifesto seriously, if not literally.
It reveals that our tech philosopher kings want public money, but without public accountability. This creates a dilemma for governments unaligned with its techno-fascist vision. 🧵

As much as Trump would love to take credit for this disaster, the Republicans in congress really do deserve some credit, too.
That only works if there are provisions that keep them from going right back into industry when they leave. Otherwise they’ll spend their terms pandering to their anticipated future employers. Funneling contracts, loosening regs, etc.
Term limits are not the fix people seem to think they are.

This is so vile.
Wow. Just wow.
So? The NRA is an American organization, too, and its influence has been profoundly corrupting. There are plenty of groups whose contributions to candidates give me pause and cause me to question or withdraw my support.
I don’t want candidates who take money from pro-Israel or gun industry groups.
And no environmental waivers
Discovery should be interesting
Schumer step aside. I am a Democrat, and you are out of touch. You are supporting war crimes by voting to fund Israel. Schumer step aside.
