Not sure if this counts, but s'mores on Christmas Eve at the Beloit Sky Carps ballpark.

It's normal in libraries to see a small number of book challenges by parents & patrons who have concerns about content. Today, however, 92% come from organized groups, including officials and dark money groups like Citizens for a New LA. It's time we reclaim our libraries for the people they serve.
“The Mohegan Tribe chose to invest in women’s basketball at a time when male billionaires refused. It’s ironic, then, that the WNBA is now prioritizing NBA owners when those very owners turned their back on the league two decades ago.”
In 2023, Governor JB Pritzker was joined by Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, advocates, and lawmakers at the Harold Washington Library to sign legislation outlawing book bans in Illinois.
Illinois made history as the first state to outlaw book bans once and for all.
Marginalizing people, ideas, or facts has no place in our state — and they have no place in a democracy.
This National Library Week, we continue our commitment to free thought and free speech.
This is a snapshot of the failure of MSM and the concomitant ignorance within the American electorate about what is happening in and to their country.
I have no words.
Surely she can afford a first name
Women have always played baseball/have always been good at math. Sallie Pero was an award winning math student/3 sport athlete, including baseball, at Columbia. Read about Sallie and about women were the original computers. @iwbc4me.bsky.social @awm-math.org

A series of women’s suffrage murals that took root in Chicago is expanding across the United States. Three murals that pay tribute to the 1920 passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, have gone up in the Loop.
So many screenings! Find one near you.
Wishinig our friends at Rockford Public Library a happy National Library Week! From hosting exhibits of IWBC artifacts to offering resources and research assistance on local baseball history, we can always count on RPL. Thank you for all you do! #NationalLibraryWeek #LoveYourLibrary #ReadBaseball
Vote them all out.
The Seattle Storm showing up for their roommates, the Seattle Torrent. I love how this city's teams support each other!

Welcome to the Midwest!
Our cats Roscoe and Jim, in our kitchen, looking very serious.
I enjoy the way that in this photo our cats look like a hip-hop duo quite a lot of people quite liked in 1996 who have made a comeback record, done an interview with a broadsheet newspaper and are attempting to prove they are still serious and relevant.
That's a great point. And, she has an album coming out this year. I wish people would celebrate these successful women instead of trying to minimize them.
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
I don't know how old that MTSW is, but anyone who was fairly grown up while Madonna was coming up would respect what she did. Don't have to like her music or her actions, but she changed a lot in our culture. I never understand why people go back in time to drag people they weren't here for.
I just finished binging @juanitatolliver.bsky.social 's podcast Archival. It's so good! I love how much she loves the research. She concludes each episode with nuggets that would have been left on the cutting room floor.
As a school librarian, I’m so grateful for the support of Jacqueline Woodson & the many other authors in the many censorship fights happening in our country

Stay safe.
This is crazy. Just open-air larceny.
I love this! Very sharp with the gray bins.
This is so gross.
I was wondering why they never got married. Well, good for them.
What? No kidding.
