Wouldn’t it better for humanity if we invested in actual education so that “self learners” didn’t have to simulate critical thought?

Embarrassing for modern classical composers that none of them are considered as good as a guy who died in the 1700s. Like being an automotive engineer and getting smoked by the designer of Fred Flintstone’s car
Write a poem
Sing in the shower
Pick up the guitar
Paint something
Write a book
Plant a garden
Make love
All these things are acts of joy and rebellion
Turn off your phone and make the art
Ladies and gentlemen... the weekend. (also: you are important and are not alone 🧡)
Still from the Driving Crooner sketch from I Think You Should Leave. Tim Robinson, driving a car, looks to his passenger and says, “I gotta figure out how to make money on this thing. It’s simply too good.”
Not enough has been said about how AI companies are basically doing the Driving Crooner sketch as a business model.
Step 1: Make a product that does something nobody wants and/or only works in very specific scenarios.
Step 2:
I have never been able to take Dak Prescott seriously but this hilarious.
Fred Rogers does seem to have been a genuinely decent human being and also he would probably be the first to tell you not to idolize him, but to find in yourself what is beautiful and special and hold that up to the light so that you can see it clearly, and can everyone else.
I feel this. I need to organize them like crazy. Prob should purge too.
I see she’s also doing the anthem at the Super Bowl, too. Oof.
Rhetorical comment: all games on Thursday Night Football are beatings instead of beat downs. Boring, mostly, too.
Looks like I need to find a new sports app. Yahoo Sports was great, until the latest update where you have to scroll past a big ad to see scores. Feels super busy. Quick glance’s now are a chore, as the widget doesn’t show everything on multiple teams having a game in a single day, too. :(
Ally and Capital One.
Okay hear me out, maybe it wasn’t Twitter, America, craft beer, Marvel, Disney, Spotify, etc that jumped the shark…what if we jumped ourselves? What if the Fonz’s OG jump in his leather jacket over the sharks…really a metaphor for us losing ourselves?
Also, I miss David Bowie and Anthony Bourdain.
🥲
I don’t know what needs to be done but how hard is it to convince all the sports orgs/people Bluesky is where they need to come to and let go of Elon’s experiment.
I drove by it the other day. It’s pretty sad looking.
I don’t think I connect the butterfly with Bluesky, but maybe a name change is coming, too. Icon could be be more modern, too.
I can see that with the continued movement of social media choking itself.
I still think Bluesky is the answer but they didn’t ramp up with the fallout of the bird place. So as a result, Threads is probably where we’ll all end up, until the advertising of Meta ruins it like FB/IG.
Frank Ocean needs another album.
Why won’t they just open this place up? Let’s unload the x-bird place.
Cowboys took the Thanksgiving game because no one wanted it. Now, they act like it’s the Super Bowl every year because they can’t get back there.
If you think of what you are thankful and just left it at that, it is okay. There are many things worth protesting, every year. But you can’t do it if you are mentally and emotionally drained all the time.
I don’t ever recommend moving during the holidays.
Tom and B’elanna as couple was fun, but yeah individually they weren’t real strong. I think B’elanna had way more to explore (which they did at times) but Tom seemed a mix of a lot of past Trek characters, which didn’t make him very deep. A lot of Voyager writing seemed not thought thru completely.
I think he was a Captain in Endgame (VOY), which would have worked out perfectly timeline wise. Sad they didn’t have a chance. The Tuvok cameo was nice, but again he got more screen time on Voyager too. Sigh.
Writer failure, I think. He wasn’t popular so they forgot about him. Gave Tom Paris tons of story and pushed his growth as a character. Harry was just the loveable guy everyone forgets about
You can’t bring outside drinks into bars, but if bars start carrying Martinelli’s Apple Juice, I’ll quit drinking tomorrow.
Flutes have always gotten a bad rap.
André 3000’s new album is perfect for today. Naturally, Spotify’s algorithm told me to go listen to a billion generated playlists instead. #bringbackRdio
