Trump, IRS In Talks To Settle U.S. President's $10 Billion Lawsuit Trump's adult sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization are also plaintiffs.

Trump is reported close to a "deal" with himself under which US taxpayers would pay him $10 billion.

I served in multiple communist and authoritarian dictatorships, but I never witnessed corruption on this scale or this blatant.

Must-read on how most (but not all, tagging @anderspucknielsen.dk again) experts got it wrong on Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and what this should teach us about future predictions, esp re China and Taiwan

Ukraine's role in European security YouTube video by Anders Puck Nielsen

We need to move beyond the discussion about security guarantees to Ukraine. For their own security, European NATO members should pursue a real alliance. In this video, I explain why Ukraine is so important for Europe's ability to deter Russian aggression.

@anderspucknielsen.dk on how a postwar Ukraine will be more of a security provider for Europe, vs a receiver of security guarantees -- so many good points in this short video www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4g8...

Without pluralism within the climate movement, we risk handing the future to the far right The climate crisis demands urgency, not ideological uniformity. In an already fragmented movement, requiring adherence to specific positions on issues beyond climate action deepens division and opens ...

Our warning about eco-fascism in the 2030s, and why the climate movement needs pluralism rather than hyper-identity politics.

@rupertread.bsky.social joins me as co-author. We disagree on some issues. That is itself part of the pluralism we are advocating.

@anderspucknielsen.dk advocating for a sensible strategic policy.

That everyone can be damn sure the Ukrainians will be up to fight the Russians makes them being part of our alliance so important for deterrence purposes.

It's in all of Europe's interest.

The only alternative that will open the Strait of Hormuz faster is to acknowledge defeat, and I'm not sure Trump is ready for that.
This is going to take a long time.

I’ve been in several negotiations with Iranians. They are tough as nails. Even agreeing when to take a break, or the seating plan, is a battle. They fight everything until you reach a point where it seems a success that the meeting happened at all. That’s what they do. US is totally outmatched.

"It is undoubtedly true that a blockade is an act of war and in a normal Congress this could make a difference. However, bombing a country’s leadership, military facilities, power plants and university departments are also acts of war, and so far that has made no difference whatsoever."

Sure, we can find the mines. But it will take months for dedicated mine hunters to investigate every object on the seabed, and they can't begin before the area is safe from other threats. So it's a long process.

The mines can be on the seabed. They don't have to be close to the surface.

Any rumors of Vance going to Moscow soon?

Jo, der er grænser for hvor meget man plausibelt kan snyde. I hvert fald i Ungarn. Putin og Lukashenko ville nok være sluppet afsted med det.

Det er i hvert fald rart lige at blive bekræftet i at han ikke finder på noget skørt. Det var ikke helt utænkeligt.

They are not mine hunters. I don't know what equipment the XO was thinking about, but it is definitely not a job they are designed for.

Because they are under water, and everything subsurface is hard. That's why submarines are still such a formidable weapon.
