They like tariffs, but in more targeted ways than the Trump "policy".

Needed more of this prior to the election(s)
The swing voter criticism (for better or worse) of Dems was not necessarily their positions on cultural issues, but their focus on those issues at the expense of economic issues.
What have we heard from the GOP since the election? A focus on cultural issues, next to nothing about the economy.
There's still a lack of evidence that this is the political winner that the GOP thinks it is. I sense overreach already.

you might call it a tale of two Jareds
You've got three options:
1) Change behavior psychologically. Nearly impossible
2) Change the food supply. Not as impossible as #1, but very very difficult
3) Change behavior chemically. Seems to me to be the path of least resistance
I'll admit, I had not seen the "we can't teach argumentation anymore" takes. I am probably better for it.
Good thoughts. There's definitely a tension between 3 and 4, but worth pondering.
