The Giant Eagle Foundation is committing $1 million to food bank partners across the grocer’s five-state footprint, including Ohio, as regional food banks face record demand, the company said in a news release.

Cleveland restaurants, organizations offer assistance as 1.4 million Ohioans face SNAP cutoff Restaurants, food banks and community groups are trying to create a safety net of free food resources ahead of the November 1 deadline when federal benefits may cease due to the government shutdown.
