Reaction to this story has been very positive. I was floored when I first read it (and the title was perfect).

@rsbenedict.bsky.social really stuns here with some rather incisive and heartbreaking body horror

Re: nostalgia for VHS tapes and other analog media, I saw someone say like "a VHS tape never sold my information to a nazi" and yes that's true! But the reason it's true is actually because Congress passed a law in 1988 specifically making it illegal for video stores to sell your rental history

Link to the ruling. I am not sure I’ve seen a judicial opinion with this many tweet screenshots in it before storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

There's an Emo Phillips joke I like... "i never understood racism or sexism, why hate someone because of their race or their gender when there's so many real reasons to hate a person?"

Ugh

NPR is interviewing an oaf, clod and dolt who is an AI “author” yammering about her “process”

“Someone decided writing should be hard! I don’t want it to be hard!”

Thanks for the confession, you ridiculous woman

Genuinely underrated for how influential it is. One of my favorite Adult Swim shows ever, in fact it birthed both Adult Swim and Cartoon Netwoek original shows, and it has some of the funniest nonsequitors in tv history.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???

No? Good, because tonight is the @remarkablemedia.cafe show—tune in at 8pm Central to see trains, sasquatches and no footballs!! (well okay, there's a cartoon football. But it's only at the end.)

Like, honestly, ranch seems about the baseline for chicken finger sauce. If you can't do something more interesting than ranch, what are you even doing with your life?

Like Popeye's Blackened Ranch seems like the thing to aim at for that sorta thing?

Huh, that is not what i was expecting. I was thinking it'd be mayo-based sure, just because that's what it looks like but, like, maybe a less vinegary buffalo typea thing.

That.... sounds bland as hell

Wow, I'm glad that he didn't rest on his laurels with "Go" to make a new utterly unredeemable movie!

Brigsby Bear is SUCH a good film. I loved it.

What's the sauce along the lines of?

3 days ago 1 0 1 0

I am curious but even from fans I hear "yeah the chicken's just all right but the sauce is the good thing!!"

and I mean, I know the allure of a good sauce (I legit really like the BWW garlic parmesan sauce), but.... grocery stores exist! and sometimes they even sell the exact sauce! (i.e. BWW)

The premise of this story is "what if mammary tissue was contagious" and also "what if Yoko Ono did bioterrorism"

A comic from DORK called The Prisoner of Second Avenue. It references the 1975 Jack Lemon film The Prisoner of Second Ave, the cult ITV UK series The Prisoner about a government agent trapped in a place called "The Village", and the East Village section of New York City, where second avenue runs through. The prisoner refuses to cooperate with punk panhandlers on Saint Mark's Place in the village, acting indignant and shouting lines from the TV series used when he is being interrogated. It's not funny if you have to explain it this much, but there you go. Maybe it's not funny anyway.

NERD INFERNO is out April 28th from @darkhorse.com.

Every day until then I will post something from the 648-page juggernaut. Today: A short comic from DORK that most of the younger readers won't get. These things happen. Then again, some folks didn't get it back when it first ran. Be seeing you!

The degradation of society:
1. Celebrating the k!lling of a CEO
2. Cheering on warehouse arsons
3. Making heroes out of people who attempt political violence
You can be outraged at the system and still not glorify violence. These aren't wins. This is a society losing its moral compass.
[Coming from a liberal btw]

Bro misunderstands. This is not the degredation of society.

These are the *results.* When the rich and powerful refuse to be restrained by our laws, they violate the social contract and leave people desperate and with no legal recourse.

They have fucked around, and are finding out.
