If you're the new lead of a LGBTQ+ advocacy org and your very first act in the job is to express sympathy for JKR in a national newspaper... Maybe... Idk... Just putting it out there... But maybe you're not the right person for the role.

What neurodivergent people really think about the words used to describe them Research reveals a clear preference for how neurodivergent adults want to be described, though not everyone agrees.

“We recommend listening to neurodivergent people to find out about their preferences and using the words that they prefer, instead of solely being led by traditions which have developed without the input of the communities we are referring to.”

The Women Who Believe That Women Should Lose the Right to Vote

I personally know quite a few Christian men who believe in household voting. Longtime, offline, realworld people in my life. This isn't some fringe online edgelord fad. This is widespread in Christian churches now and you need to take the threat it poses seriously.

“AI machine that generates Slop so evil that it infects & poisons the earth around it” is the type of on-the-nose plot reserved for a middle-of-the-road Buffy Monster of the Week episode, but it’s what data centers are presently doing in communities around the country

Happy "Kick Orbán to the curb" day to all who celebrate.

The real lesson of the Hungarian people's victory over authoritarianism is that people power can defeat dictators.

The massive opposition movement led to a massive electoral victory. We can do it too!

women were kept out of meetings and career opportunities at Pixar because John Lasseter was so much of a sex pest that people decided it was easier to simply not have them in the room with him

how many talented women didn’t get a fair chance because one guy couldn’t behave himself?

I’m sorry but I hate headlines like ‘Autistic man finds love’ and? I always feel like these headlines reinforces a stereotype that autistic people are somehow less capable of relationships, which isn’t true.

Absurd. After Pope Leo criticized Trump's war in Iran, Pentagon officials reportedly invoked the Avignon Papacy as a warning—a devastating 14th century military conquest of the Catholic Church. Pope Leo has since cancelled his planned US visit

Tl:dr Even the Pope appears unsafe from Trump’s fascism

A screenshot of a Facebook post by CBS 2 Boise. The post text reads: "A new state law required the City of Boise to take down the Pride flag outside City Hall. Tuesday morning, the City wrapped flag poles in Pride colors and added a new sign to the window on City Hall. CBS2 reached out to the Mayor and Governor’s office for comment."
Below the text is a collage of three photos showing these updates:
Left: A tall metallic flagpole in a plaza at night, with its lower section wrapped in horizontal stripes matching the colors of the Progress Pride flag (black, brown, light blue, pink, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple).
Top Right: A closer view of a flagpole base, also wrapped in horizontal Progress Pride flag colors.
Bottom Right: A large window on City Hall featuring a graphic with diagonal stripes in the Progress Pride colors alongside the text, "Creating a city for everyone."

Oh, this is good. Idaho passed a bill banning local cities from flying the Pride flag. So the cities decided to wrap the poles themselves in pride colors.

This is amazing.

Same. I recently read and LOVED a book that had some of my most utterly despised tropes and themes because the author was just so, so talented. She was like a fine dining chef transforming a hated food into something delightfully edible.

You just type into ChatGPT "how do I become certified AI proficient?" and then cut and paste its answer into a Word doc and turn that in to your teacher.

Restricting disability benefits kills disabled people.

So if you’re advocating that we make the system harsher, harder, more inaccessible, less “generous”…

You’re advocating for killing disabled people.

I live in the south but in the suburbs of a big metro and that guy never hauled anything other than groceries and an occasional potting soil. The truck was just country boy cosplay.

A neighbor's wife left him when she realized his $900 a month truck payment was their biggest monthly expense and that paying for the truck was more important to him than affording kids, going on vacation, working fewer hours, buying a better house, or saving for retirement. Trucks are an obsession.
