I live in the south but in the suburbs of a big metro and that guy never hauled anything other than groceries and an occasional potting soil. The truck was just country boy cosplay.

A neighbor's wife left him when she realized his $900 a month truck payment was their biggest monthly expense and that paying for the truck was more important to him than affording kids, going on vacation, working fewer hours, buying a better house, or saving for retirement.
