The usual weekend beach walk! π

Youngblood Strikefile was great - like that it had more story to it (probably because it could focus on individual characters, and the other Youngblood books are still enjoyable)!
This is amazing, plus his cover to 1998's Avengers #1. Back when being an Avenger was something (rather than modern Marvel's "everyone is an Avenger" direction)!
Have a great time, watch out for blue furred monsters near any bakery stands!
Yet sadly there are still people who will defend the company no matter what, despite what has been revealed recently, and over the years! π
I'll keep an eye out for the thread, and post when I can download a picture to accompany it! π
Madge and Harold from Neighbours, with the text: Just letting you know, if you were born before 1982, you are now older than Madge Bishop when she joined Neighbours... Have a great day!
Today I learned, as I curled into a rotted husk.
She was 43. Harold was 47.
Is your shop or cafe ready for the Spring footfall? βοΈβ
With the brighter days of April approaching, itβs the perfect time to "Spring clean" your marketing and get noticed by customers walking past. Your signage is your 24/7 salespersonβmake sure itβs saying the right thing!

Been misbehaving all day, but seems to be working again now!
I still miss #1pmchat ππͺπͺπͺπͺπͺπͺπͺπͺπͺπͺ
My vague memories was there was previously an hour called 1pmLunch or something like that? That hour ended, and then 1pmChat started to continue the hour?
Hosting the "temporary" Saturday hour was great fun during lockdown!
I seem to remember George was always the main host (I started joining the hour in 2019), and was possibly a spin-off from another hour that previously existed?
And answering Cookie Monster to every quiz question! π
Watching the finale of The Apprentice this evening - don't take it seriously (everyone from #1pmChat days may remember my blog post on why the show doesn't really reflect businesses), but going to watch it anyway!

In honour of Image and 90s artist Steve Platt, let's name it the Platt-inum age!! π
(Don't know why I thought of him since he was never involved with Malibu, but still seemed appropriate!!)
Text saying "Hi simon, can you help with - Thursday 21st May, 11:00am-1:00pm". In background is a photo of shelves of books.
I often get messages asking for advice with writing, books to read, etc.
Best place to ask these are at the Books & Networking events. Others at event may be able to support you too!
Be great to see you at next month's meeting. Tickets available at: www.eventbrite.com/e/books-netw...

I'm surprised people can get so excited over a baked potato! Although if its what people are into, good for them (and he does seem to be a genuine influencer). π
I'm sometimes asked which books we discuss at the Books & Networking events.
There's no specific book - we discuss what everyone's reading.
On this page you'll find EVERY book choice from every event - so check it out if you are looking for inspiration: www.booksandnetworking.co.uk/events/previ...
I remember the Howard the Duck reboot, was a big deal at the time, with Steve Gerber returning to Marvel.
Initial perception of Quesada era is a lot of classic creators being sidelined, however classic creators like Gerber, Claremont, Bruce Jones, etc. produced some of their best modern work.
I love this run, was a breath of fresh air after the (also great) move-style New X-Men era!
Looks like it was your neighbours kitchen, and now its your kitchen! π
One day you'll find someone that's obsessed with you.
It's probably going to be a cat but it is what it is.
Enjoyed picking up Previews, usually discovered lots of wonderful indy titles!
I remember buying packs of comic book storage bags, which featured Shi on the packagings label slip!
Mainly back issues for some months as my family was moving (local comic store really nice, didn't do mail order but told us they would for us if needed), main interest being Fantastic Four (plus FF 2099).
First comic I picked up regularly new was 2099 World of Tomorrow, plus Heroes Reborn titles.
Great choice! I'd set myself a fun challenge years ago to get all 100 issues, and didn't do too badly. May resume the challenge and get the rest!
Got this for 50p same time I got first Deadpool when comic shop was reducing them all. At a time when first appearances really felt significant, and not as forced. π
Also like Lifeld's art (yes, really!) - think he works best when he has the right people working with him!
He looks a bit like Prince Harry on that cover, especially the beard! π
Didn't realise this one existed - amazing cover artwork (and can't go wrong with Venom, especially 90s Venom!)!
