PNC Park's view over Pittsburgh's forested hills, nicely stacked model-train skyline and the Aztec yellow Three Sisters bridges over the green waters of the Alleghy
There is no better place to watch baseball.

Some personal news: This was my last assignment for Public Source. I tried to report every story on behalf of our most vulnerable neighbors. It's been my honor to serve them and the people of PGH for the past three years. I'll be freelancing for the foreseeable future. My DMs are open for tips.
You need a subscription to hear me talk about which Pgh alley reeks of piss, but you can hear me talk about newspapers, the Draft and other stuff here for free: megaphone.link/CC7082967500
I talked about this with City Cast on this morning's Neighbors segment (paywalled for members). There are not enough places to poop and pee in Pittsburgh. Also there WILL be extremely stupid Griffin/Dunlap tweets the second someone sleeps on one of the benches.
There are eight magnificent Thaddeus Mosley originals called "Touching the Earth" I believe.
It'll be even better when they add the last murals, pickleball courts and (most importantly) public bathrooms
This is just One Guy's Take but it's pretty spectacularly done and feels roomy enough. Good views, too
Well, that sucks.
When I lived downtown, this space was:
- the empty remains of a torn-down parking garage
- a Goodyear shop
Infrastructure for cars can become infrastructure for people if we put some effort into it.
A wooden play structure and landscaping in the new Arts Landing near Pittsburgh CAPA school
A new membrane and steel bandshell on a spacious lawn near the Three Sisters Bridges
I think folks who hated moving the arts festival from the Point will be consoled somewhat by the awesome new Arts Landing. MUCH better land use than that stupid Goodyear.
Donald Trump post "The U.S.A. is the “HOTTEST” Country in the World right now. Just a short time ago, under Sleepy Joe Biden, IT WAS DEAD, LAUGHED AT ALL OVER THE WORLD!!! But not anymore - Nobody’s laughing!!! President DJT"
Trump slowly evolving into dril
Corey O'Connor glazed by WaPo: "The move toward center-left with a campaign focused less on social justice tropes and more on fiscal issues shows why O'Connor one, said a guy who went to the same college as O'Connor, who somehow also concludes moving to the center is a lesson for national Dems.
The goose chase meme
He "focused less on social justice tropes" than Pittsburgh's first Black mayor? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Just learned the Valley Mirror is shutting down. Even as Pittsburgh-proper journalism gives cause for optimism, it's notable how many of these longtime newspapers in collar communities have languished and/or closed.
Ohiopyle! Go hiking and see the wildflowers!
I'm learning of another driver hitting a pedestrian at Baum and Morewood this afternoon. Bringing us to 4 pedestrians being hit today.
Obnoxiously Pitt Girl reacting "OMG" to news that Protein Slammin' Strawberry Poptart will be sacrificed to Mouth Heaven during the NFL Draft. Right abover her is Katie Shook saying "Pittsburg is going to love this" about the same news.
I love when the timeline lines up.

Lilies of the valley have slender, tapered leaves and small bell-shaped white flowers
Happy little lilies of the valley 🌱
Point Breeze. 7100 block of Penn Ave. Caller said that a driver of a car just struck a pedestrian with their vehicle. The driver did not stop and the pedestrian is injured and needs medical attention.
On a city street, an odd looking baby blue minivan-type vehicle with the word "Waymo" on the large back window
The same vehicle having turned left, showing it from the side
They're heeeerrrre...and easy to spot. #Waymo #Pittsburgh
Fair warning: it will make you very sad.
men will be like "i hate musical theater" and then listen to iron maiden
Dancer in the Dark with Björk. Watched with my family in middle school when it came out in 2000 and holy moly
BREAKING: A jury finds that Ticketmaster and Live Nation had an anticompetitive monopoly over big concert venues.
I just found out there are bocce courts behind here!
Lmao I'll take this under advisement
Churchmogged for heresymaxxing
An embarassment of riches when it comes to local journalism in Pittsburgh.
If you write about Black Pittsburgh, small businesses, weird history, immigrant communities, environment, or roving sex dungeons, we also love all that stuff. You can also reach out to @awaltz.bsky.social for A&E or @alitrachta.bsky.social with misc tips/business Qs as we get ready to publish soon!
As of today, 1) we're open for pitches (guidelines to be updated soon) and 2) I'm open to tips. Especially interested in Pittsburgh arts, transit/infrastructure, social justice, and LGBTQ stories beginning in May. Hmu colin@pghcitypaper.com or DM.
