You get a like for the picture alone 😁 Now to read the text :))

Couple years ago I went to Japan for cherry blossom season. Weather was crap, season delayed a few weeks, totally missed it.
2 years later, Imma make cherry blossom season at home 😋🌸
Can someone recommend me a rigid box manufacturer for Dark Bio? Seems making a square box, with 2.5mm wall thickness, that doesn't fall apart is arcane magic nowadays. The manufacturer I wanted to collab with just flipped the table on me for saying 2.3mm vs 2.5mm is inaccurate.
Hey Claude, can you isolate this 3 liner fix into a new branch?
Claude: Sure! `git stash && git checkout && git stash pop && git checkout --`
And that is how I lost an hour of work.
I don't know who named the Rust DNA processing library "noodles", but I tip my hat to you 😋
Ugh, the tolerances are ever so slightly off, so now I need a jeweller's anvil / hammer to press these together. Sigh.
Obviously this only happens in prod and not in my 15 months' worth of prototypes. 🤪
🥳
Mechanical parts done, just unboxed them, feels like xmas 😁
Will leave the measurements for tomorrow, otherwise I’m not gonna sleep if I find an issue 🫠

Dude, you were like *old* 5 decades ago 😋
Can I apply if already spent a couple hours here and there (prolly less than 1000) on it before the hackathon? 😅😅😅
Cherry farm in my hometown, anti-freeze measures 😅🍒
Well, that went fast 😋. The @dark.bio iOS app was approved for App Store distribution in 36 hours 🔥

I mean, I would expect them to at least use their own LLM that I could try to prompt inject, but they outsource their chatbot to some dum-dum 3rd party 😅
Oh, and you have NO WAY to contact a person who understands the problem, you can only talk to a fucking AI whose job is to get rid of you.
It just closes the convo with "End." after you explain what's wrong.
Well, fuck Anthropic.
I've bought a 3 month Claude Max sub to a friend as a gift. Sent it to them. 10 days later, their gift is GONE from their account. No trace whatsoever.
I go to Anthropic to request a refund:
- I can't it's not my gift.
- They can't, it doesn't exist.
Import 1 pcs of 50g Al into EU: 3 day import process, CO2 declaration (2 weeks), customs, duties, etc.
Import 25 pcs of 50g Al into CH: plane lands, shit's loaded onto a car, delivered. Done.
And it's a wrap! Happy Easter all, see you in a few days...
Woot #2, just got the ack from the Play Store too 🤖, app approved for Android external testers too (closed track). 😊
Woot, the Dark Bio Companion App was approved for external testers on the App Store 🍎. Yeah, I know, this is average Tuesday for any mobile dev. I'm still happy 😊
Needs an Ark tho' 😋
Is using AI to generate compliance docs sane? Nope.
But is *not* using AI to write compliance docs sane? Also nope.
Behold, the text below is Irish (or more accurately, Gaelic). Important stuff to be legal in the European Union!
I'm trying to do EU compliance documentation for
@dark.bio, obviously using Claude... at some point Imma have to put Claude on the cap table.
TL;DR: We are looking technical people to build on top of Dark Bio; appetite to play with their genome; and means to financially support us. We offer a Founder series Ark and our availability.
founders@dark.bio
PS: For larger investments, we also offer a spot on the cap table.
Hardware component costs currently are insane; doing small batches doesn't get economies of scale; and the premium precision and materials of the Ark doesn't help either.
If you are interested in getting an Ark, you should be aware that we must pass on our current costs.
Whilst we've tried to push the hardware as much to finality as we can, the software is in an earlier stage and will go through a lot of iteration as we collaborate.
If you are interested in getting an Ark, you should expect teething problems and feature limitations.
Dark Bio does not operate its own sequencing labs and does not have partnerships currently with any provider. Sequencing a genome generally takes 4-8 weeks (less if expedited) and costs around $400-800.
If you are interested in getting an Ark, you should already have your WGS.
We are putting together an initial batch of these (25 pcs) and they should be ready in about 6-8 weeks depending on suppliers; barring last minute fuckups.
We're looking for people who would be interested in playing with them; but who can also afford to support the project. 🧵
2024: Oh, you're building something on the RaspberryPI platform? You're such a cheapskate!
2026: Oh, you're building something on the RaspberryPI platform? Nobody will be able to afford it!

Please don't make me post selfies and shorts to prove these images are real 🤣
