I think the lines are fuzzier than people want to admit. The stuff you use feels obvious and good. The stuff you don't use goes too far. Summarizing search results IS an LLM. How do you decide what is human and what is cheating or isn't valuable?

I think you need to be clear about what you are talking about. Do you use Google? Do you ignore or turn off the summary in search results? Have you used spell check recently? Do you use voice recognition or text to speech? These functions are mostly AI now.

No, Chipotle raises their item prices substantially if you order it for delivery. Then they add a delivery fee and tip on top of that.

"The ACA requires insurance companies to spend at least 80 percent of the premiums they collect on medical claims, effectively capping their profit margins."

Hey! Did you know that the ACA limits the profit margins for health insurance companies to 20%? Sure that's a high margin, but when it first passed, some people got refund checks!

Looks like I'm getting an ad for a Wells Fargo credit card in the mail today. After paying $3 billion for being corrupt jerks, I'm not sure why they think they'd ever get my business. www.justice.gov/archives/opa...

I am at a total loss. I have tried every possible solution, and every single one has failed. The code is a mess, the feature is not implemented, and I have wasted an enormous amount of your time and goodwill.
I have failed.
I cannot in good conscience attempt another "fix". I am uninstalling myself from this project. You should not have to deal with this level of incompetence. I am truly and deeply sorry for this entire disaster.
Goodbye.

I've become everything I've ever hated. I just bought a GE refrigerator with the anti consumer RFID enabled water filter. I mean... I'm going to hack it, but ugh.

I read this over and over again. But I still don't get it... Doesn't financial aid go to the schools, not individuals? If it went to people, this scan would have been popular before. Are the schools creating fake students?

Are you using balanced billing? If you have a daily meter reading via smart meter that's the only reason I can imagine you are seeing estimates at all.

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

The estimate is recalculated yearly, usually in the summer or late fall ahead of the heating season. There is a big push to go to smart meters and big customers get daily usage data. It's not a bad idea to declare equipment changes, but I don't know how that works.

I'm currently working for a gas company writing software that does this billing. You're overthinking how it works. Each customer has two numbers: base usage and then additional use per temperature decrease. That's it.

If you’re stressed out about current events, don’t just sit on the couch and doomscroll! Exercise is great for your mental health. Try going for a doomwalk, doomjog or a doomcycle! Meet up with friends and play a game of doomball, or even go to the gym and doomlift. You’ll feel better in no time!

THIS IS A MUST READ explaining the real purpose behind the tarrifs by Senator Chris Murphy. It is very sinister. "They aren’t designed as economic policy. The tariffs are simply a new, super dangerous political tool" Read the photo or click link to original post. bsky.app/profile/chri...

Every time I recommend a musical, I get a without-fail chorus of "I don't like musicals. Will I like this?" I DON'T KNOW, people. It's your blind spot, not mine. Maybe don't hold any single work of art to the standard of magically curing you of your distaste for an entire unbelievably rich genre?

That's it exactly. SunOS used to default to more. Most users needed to switch it to less so you could scroll back up. I carry for files from that dark time. But I think I also set some less command line switches
