The thing is, the movie had quite a few moments where I was expecting “okay here’s where the substance will be” or “oh boy character growth”, or at least “time for some real story” but instead, status quo was chosen. References themselves can’t hold up a story. Just feels a bit disappointing c:/
My review of the Mario Galaxy Movie: Flashy, but not substantive. It’s “References: The Movie”. It was fun seeing everything being referenced, but, there was no real growth or character development, there was a loose plot but that’s all. The Birdo rep wasn’t amazing either, expected a little better.
