Just started watching this today and I'm already almost done with the first season, it's very good - and with actually pretty solid mystery writing.

Far from perfect, and once I finally sat back and looked at it when I was done I noticed several problems - but I still feel like this marks a big improvement in my ability to draw a face from reference overall.

One more progress picture before I get some sleep; followed another video tutorial from SamDoesArts. It's the new best thing I've drawn and yet also I can't stop seeing the problems and fidgeting over them.

But that's normal - I'm happy that I did this.

I've been at it for just about a week now, drawing a little bit every day even if it's just warm-up practice exercises like basic shapes and perspective, and watching tutorial vids. These two drawings are separated by a couple of days, following a tutorial by SamDoesArts. Not great, but I like them.

I'm not very good yet and have a lot of things to learn and practice and refine, but it's fun. I go to bed at night excited.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of "Oh my god, I drew this. I've never drawn anything like this before," even if it's something really basic and beginner-level.

I'm starting to learn to draw. It's a slow process, and it's one of those things where I know what I should do, but at the same time I don't know what to do, if you get what I mean. I've got a long way to go, and it's kind of a daunting task, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Oh- well, that's what happens when you jostle her around like that while she's full of fuel.

Please close your fireplaces and chimneys and keep an eye on your combustibles - lava kobolds are known to chow down on loose firewood, charcoal, candles, kerosene... you get the idea.

Vetarix is always hungry for that sweet, creamy nectar. She'll consume as much as she can get her hands on. Word is she was cursed for her dairy-thieving ways, and now whenever she drinks milk her body magically grows larger...

...I think that curse backfired.

I've skipped on family holiday gatherings before, but this is the first year that I've done so out of dread over a family member making me feel like I'm only wanted and welcomed because I'm useful to them.
