This time Labour hasn't been stitched up by the right-wing press. Every scandal of this shambolic Starmer government is entirely of their own making.
This is Tory-level idiocy, corruption, incompetence, grift and bigotry. The very stuff of which voters were so utterly sick.

Tweet by Martina Navratilova. "Predator. That is how he should register. A sexual predator…" quote-tweeting a tweet by "Biology Rules OK" about Dr. Beth Upton, a trans woman
This tweet is highly defamatory and Martina Navratilova should be fired from BBC Sport for it.
It demonstrates an horrendous level of hatred for a trans woman (who was cleared of all wrongdoing in a recent tribunal) because she is a trans woman.
In my experience, the gays who were active in the gay rights movement support trans rights now.
The gays who stayed home and scolded the activists for stirring things up are the ones who are now trying to ditch trans people.
Hoping it is possible that they both lose.
Telegraph newspaper editorial on Mandelson's appointment in December 2024 versus editorial today
Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.
There's just gotta be a line somewhere.
Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.
Another one transed.
We are coming for all your heroes.
"I have nothing but admiration for her passion & the strength of her conviction. While she held views some may find challenging - her desire that we be criminalised and die painfully, for example - no-one among us could deny the value of her contribution to the citrus industry.
A titan of a woman"
What good would it have done if the civil servants hadn't "hidden" the vetting failure? Would the outcome differ?
Phillipson appointed Mary-Ann Stephenson as EHRC chair *despite* not one but two select committes warning her not to!
This government installs all the wrong people because it wants to.
Praising JK Rowling when asked a question on trans rights is akin to praising Anita Bryant when asked a question gay rights. No money to Stonewall. No Stonewall at Pride. They are already experiencing a funding crisis, and this chairwoman appointment should be their last. Traitors.
Reform really should be an absolute gift to a sitting government. Deeply target-rich opposition leader who is badly tainted by Trump. Back rank of even more unlikeable characters. Real nervousness among voters about them.
That Labour is still doing so badly shows exactly why Starmer needs to go
Daily Mail front page - IT’S EVERYONE’S FAULT BUT HIS Daily Mail21 Apr 2026By Jason Groves and James Tapsfield Warned: Sir Keir with Mandelson last year The Prime Minister was drowned out by mocking laughter as he admitted his own version of events ‘beggars belief’. Kemi Badenoch warned Sir Keir’s explanation was becoming ‘murkier and more contradictory’ and he faced sustained criticism from his own MPS as he struggled to explain why he gave Mandelson the job before he had been vetted, despite being warned about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and business links to China and Russia.
It's not often there is a Daily Mail front page you agree with but here we are...
He prefers Nathan now. Or are pronouns just too much for you, Sooz?
‘I wished for death’: Sexual violence in Israel’s prisons is an ‘organised state policy’ Palestinian testimonies reveal how sexual violence, including rape using objects and dogs, is approved by 'highest levels' of Israeli leadership
The testimony here about sexual violence by Israel against Palestinian prisoners is so beyond the pale everyone must see it.
It is so bad I can’t in good conscience share a quote other than the headline, which somehow manages to understate the horror within.

Believe me, I absolutely understand how the OP feels right now and I'm not putting her down. None of us can carry this load alone or for very far. The good news is that there is a legion of others, younger and stronger, to pick it up.
Those defending trans and wider LGBTQ rights have been burning out for decades. The strain is huge and relentless, the resources tiny, the setbacks heartbreaking. It is not sustainable.
I don't agree we are "toast". As I watch this govt crumble and the right on the run, I think we're winning.
Clear now that Starmer had been told to wait until a candidate passed vetting before announcing they are filling post.
He has lied.
We also know that Starmer and McSweeney pushed through other political appointments, however unsuitable, despite reasonable objections.
Sorry, needs context to be useful.
Used by me in Edinburgh 2012-2020, at least once a week.
I'd like to donate "catwank".
Excellent.
A stone in the shoe for the Reform voter in your life.
Great article exposing Reform’s Orban funding and also Epstein’s influence 🤮 Fun fact for teachers though, written by Karam Bales who exposed the anti-school safety astroturf group Us For Them who were platformed more that unions and scientists during Covid bylinetimes.com/2026/04/14/e...
"'Lots of people think Keir Starmer is a good man who is out of his depth,' said one Labour insider. 'Wrong. He’s an asshole who’s out of his depth.'"

Hannah Spencer MP holding a sign saying he I SIGNED THE LETTER... Not In Our Name: Women in support of the trans+ community notinourname.org.uk
Hi @stonewalluk.bsky.social now would be the time to ask Kezia Dugdale if she will sign the @nionwomen.bsky.social letter against cis women’s rights being used as a pretext to remove trans people’s human rights, like Hannah Spencer has done. As things stand ATM the absence of it is speaking volumes.
In the UK today the de facto position is that you can be subsidized by the taxpayer, through charitable tax relief, to campaign for the pathologisation and elimination of a group nominally protected by the Equality Act, but not for its protection.
This is so absurd. You cannot be the head of a LGBTQ org and praise Rowling like this. She's a vile cess pit of bigotry.
strange these op-eds about women being too angry have all come out the last few days when during the same time there's also been a massive investigation published on an online rape academy with millions of viewers a month and none of them have bothered to even cover it, even as news
I speak to a lot of people about JK Rowling - many once close friends with her. I was once friends with her. And they all say she is now very changed.
To pretend she is not radicalised, to give succour to her views on trans people, is an astonishing thing for Kezia, as Chair of Stonewall, to do.
