Checking out Wonder Man on Hulu off a coworkers glowing rec (I do not like this coworker and think their taste is shit) - does that qualify for a spite watch or something closer to hate watch territory? Or am I just torturing myself to prove myself right?

The Beauty was a great show. That ending of season 1 was a little befuddling tho… still not sure how I feel about it. Felt abrupt

similar to the Knives Out movies -> every new iteration is both stunningly fresh and amazing in it's own unique way. Mike White's really captured lightning in a solar powered bottle with this series and it's incredible

Finally finished I Love LA - very delightful end to end. Characters really grow on you in interesting ways, which is the marker of all great shows. Funny and clever too

watched Under the Banner of Heaven and what a sleeper hit this show is. has the gravitas of a True Detective and the crime wtf-ery of a Brad Ingelsby penned series (Mare of Easttown, Task). feel like no one watched or talked about this show but it's awesome. legendary Andrew Garfield performance too

also binged Death by Lightning. easy 10/10. the cast all around is superb. mcfayden's on an absolute heater too. never would've guessed I'd love a show like this, but by damn they nailed it. got a bit of the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford to it

Put on the spanish-language 2024 Zorro series on Amazon last night. Bc look, I loved Zorro growing up and was willing to give it a chance. Unf the pilot episode is brutal. so shit. gonna give it two more eps out of respect, but this may be my first stop-watch (stopped watching) of the year #hatehard

Thought about the “it’s easier to hide behind 40 atrocities than a single incident” line from Andor and I’m experiencing a side effect from that idea, which is that trying to keep up with all 40 atrocities will make you go nuts

Ethan Hawke is terrific in The Lowdown. by the same creator of Reservation Dogs. Would rec!

then there's s2, ep 7. a MASTERFUL episode (the only ep creator David Weil directed). at times you're like - is this bad Inglorious Basterds opening scene parody? but it just keeps on building and progressing and getting gnarlier until THAT payoff. holy shit it's one of the best TV eps of the decade

Hunters season 2 - it's good but doesn't totally live up to season 1. Tbh the big, "shock" plot line falls so flat. as does much of the flashback work (the Zuchs backstory was a snoozer). but most of the present tense Jonah/Hunters timeline is still aces like s1 was!
