We Could Do Worse Than Kash Patel Being a Drunken Buffoon If the FBI director’s alleged intoxication prevents him from carrying out Trump’s agenda, that might not be such a bad thing.

I so thoroughly agree with this post from @jeetheer.bsky.social

Federal Judge Vacates Kennedy Declaration, Permanently Blocks Trump's Trans Youth Care Hospital Threats The judgment overturns the Kennedy Declaration which has been used to force 40 hospitals to drop trans youth care.

1. This weekend, a federal judge permanently blocked funding threats to providers and hospitals that provide trans youth care.

The judge also blocked "any similar policy."

Hospitals have NO excuse and must return to providing care under many blue state laws.

Right, but, Kash Patel is clearly a public figure

LET'S FUCKING GO!

Right. That's the sad thing. Kash probably gets tossed on a motion to dismiss before we even get to him trying to prove the story is false. :(

??? No. No. The "more than two dozen people" means the Atlantic is locked tight.

Kash has to show that the story is both factually wrong (which, lolz) AND that the Atlantic knew it was wrong when they published it. And the reams of interviews should really protect them.

Me: Hey [10yo]. I know I've been super busy this week, but I have the whole afternoon free to do stuff with you. There's a new game I thought we could try.
10yo: Well, I'm about to [do a thing with friends] and then later [different friend].
Me: Yes. Okay. Whenever you have time.
10yo: Sure dad.

I would happily be wrong about Alito retiring. If he stays, there’s a chance Dems can re take the Senate and he won’t be able to be replaced by a Republican

Same. Except my 15yo uses the phrase "No" as code.

The GOP Wants Alito Out—But Not Because He’s Evil In this week’s Elie v. US: A look at the campaign to dislodge Alito and replace him with... Ted Cruz? Plus: the appalling charade of President Big Mac and Door Dash Grandma.

This week’s newsletter is… cranky. Equal opportunity cranky. I’ve got smoke for Sotomayor, Thomas, Platner, Swalwell, and especially Door Dash.

Same. The Republican Justices are gearing up to just finish off the Voting Rights Act for good.

Does anybody else have a 13yo who uses the phrase "I love you" as code for "Go fuck yourself, I will eat jelly beans for breakfast while I'm sick and you're not gonna do shit about it because I've realized you are a paper tiger with no real authority over me."

Or, is it just mine?

He’s probably like, 24, and has no idea I’m a decrepit old man who will never, in fact, “git gud.” :)

Translation: I was defeated in a competitive video game by another combatant and I graciously complimented his superior skills. He noted that I too might one day acquire his level of knowledge, even though as of now he regards me as mere dirt under his greaves. :)

You *could*… until Harry Reid changed the rules for lower court judges and then Mitch McConnell changed the rules for Supreme Court Justices.

Which I always bring up to remind people who defend the filibuster that the filibuster has ALREADY BEEN NUKED

Me [getting out played in @marathonthegame.bungie.net ]: “GG’s. You got me fair.”
Him: “You’ll get there, scrub.”

My read on this nugget is that the GOP is gearing up for an Alito retirement in July and a quick confirmation before the midterms

I choose to believe this headline is a cry for help. Blink twice if Bari Weiss is in the room with you right now.
