I would love it if my tax dollars funded education for immigrants, undocumented or otherwise, food and housing for people with no income, and foreign aid that improved people's quality of life. That sounds fucking sick, actually.

So excited to see The Monkey tonight. Can't believe I get to watch it an entire week before the release date.
Same here. I'm on android which makes it very difficult to break away from google products as much as I'd like to. Considering switching to apple but they have their own issues.
Are as scared as we are speaks volumes. I will vote in the primaries and the next general because it's all I can do but there are many that already bowed out because they're not being represented. I can't guarantee I won't do the same if the democratic party keeps pussyfooting around fascism. 2/2
You and your peers need more leftist messaging. The democratic party has been capitulating to the right and now most of us are suffering because of it. So long as you are beholden to wealthy donors, you cannot represent us. You and your party failed the country and the fact that none of you 1/2
I'm immediately critical of anyone who uses the term "normie" unironically. I remember being obsessed with wanting to be unlike anyone else. Then I turned 16 and got over myself.
I actually don't disagree with their statement. Problem is, the modern world fucking sucks
I really wish the left would co-opt "facts don't care about your feelings." We have literally all the evidence on our side and the right insists on letting base fears and ignorance (feelings) rule their lives. The left is more logical and I'm so tired of seeing people assume that's not the case.

Final Destination 6 finally has a trailer. It's amazing.

They don't! If the quote is a question, they go inside, if the sentence is a question about a quote, they go outside. I thought punctuation ALWAYS went inside quotation marks and that's what I disliked.
I didn't realize there was a difference! I like British more, but I'm mistaken either way, I thought question marks always went inside quotation marks. Turns out I misremembered the rules ๐
Wish I could do the same but my insurance only covers medicine if I get it from CVS ๐ฅฒ
Not answering for op but I like having full control over my typing. I have automatic capitalization after periods turned on, but some people like having control that granular.
Fair but, personally, I don't see any meaningful difference between "trending towards fascism" and "being fascist." Hitler rose to power legally up until the Enabling Act signed on March 23rd, 1933. I think calling Germany of March 22nd, 1933 "nazi Germany" is accurate and appropriate.
I'm not comfortable labeling every republican a fascist, that's unhelpful and untrue. But we have to recognize that the party, as an organization, is tending towards it. 2/2
Whether it's by definition or not, these are very clearly fascist attitudes. If we wait until they're "technically" fascists it'll already be too late. I think people are getting desensitized to fascism itself because we're not calling what they are. 1/2
Fascism is already here and it will keep advancing so long as we're afraid to call it what it is.
And says an "American Crusade" is necessary. It also expresses support for donald. Immigrants and non-immigrants are being detained by a federal organization with new quotas that incentivize arresting anyone with brown skin. This is done in the interest of "safety" and "securing our borders" 2/3
I respectfully disagree. Elon musk did two sieg heils in a row during a speech at the president's inauguration. The president is firing his political opponents and giving supporters positions of power. For example, the secretary of defense wrote a book that calls democrats "enemies of freedom" 1/3
I disagree with the rules for punctuation in regards to quotation marks.
Doubt and questioning is explicitly advocated against, so of course people are just gonna assume they're always right. And I don't know that there's a solution. God is greater than this world, than any human laws or sciences. As long as they believe in him, they can literally do no wrong. Shit sucks
Not that anyone's asking, but why is that? Religion, duh. Religion demands faith, an unwavering belief in what you KNOW is real and right. If you have faith, you're never wrong. The world around you can be filled with any number of scum, villains, and conspiracies because the devil's real too.
Some people are just genuinely into what the republican party is doing, for sure. This is more about the friendly neighbor that hangs a trump flag. The cool aunt who was the first to accept your interracial relationship that has a "grab her by the pussy" shirt. The regular people.
When somebody shapes the world around their beliefs, literally anything can be possible. A billionaire felon who's going to get rid of corruption. A genius who's dumb enough to throw a sieg heil on accident. Tax breaks for the rich that are going to help the middle class.
One side of the political spectrum consistently acts with more humility and self awareness than the other, two attributes that are vital for examining yourself and being willing to change your mind if there's a flaw with your way of thinking. They shape their beliefs around the world.
But I think many don't do that. They're incapable, unwilling, or something else entirely. Regardless, there's some aspect of the world that clashes with their beliefs and that doesn't work, those pieces don't fit and the pieces have to fit. So they shape the world around their beliefs.
If they weren't and didn't, they would act in a different way and believe different things. There always comes a point when our beliefs clash with some element of the real world and at that point, there's either something wrong with our beliefs or with the world. This should result in introspection.
At risk of seeming/being reductive, I think I understand why there tends to be more cognitive dissonance on one side than the other. It requires some assumptions, so it's very possible I'm wrong.
I think people generally like to think they're good people that believe the right thing.
The richest man alive throwing a sieg heil and entirely too many people rushing to defend him is absolutely ruining my day. Trying not to let it but hoo boy, it is tough.
I'm unfortunately in the camp that's letting themselves whine about "these tiktok kids." Thank you for posting this
