My friends, I come to you with a deep and shameful confession.
I’ve actually been using Image Playground.
And not the ChatGPT style.
Turns out for creating a simple background for a social post or blog post image, it can do the job.
By the end of 2026, the iPad will have faced a cheaper laptop, a folding phone with an iPad-sized inner screen, and a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen. All from Apple.

I get why people complain about the Office 365 apps on iPad.
OneNote doesn’t support any of the unique features of the Apple Pencil Pro. Hell, it doesn’t even support Apple Pencil Hover!
With Apple Creator Studio, iPad creatives not only get access to more AI tools, but we **finally** get Pixelmator Pro!
Here’s what’s coming for iPad users.

That’s a wrap on Metroid Prime 4, the only game from last year I was engaged enough to finish.
Biggest complaint: Can we be done with the silent protagonists, Nintendo?
Coming into 2025, I expected another quiet year for the iPad.
Boy was I wrong.
From major iPadOS 26 multitasking changes to long-overdue apps finally arriving (Instagram!), 2025 ended up being a surprisingly strong year for Apple’s tablet.
