We have long called for children’s welfare and survivors of domestic abuse to be prioritised in child contact cases in the family courts.
The Ministry of Justice announcement to repeal the presumption of parental involvement is a positive step forward.

Hallo 👋🏻. I'm not sure what happened there, try this one? bsky.app/profile/rain...
When I was in my late 20s or early 30s and raging/grumbling about why was it that individuals found it so hard to get what they needed, because of the system, and how it shouldn’t work like this, I first heard about this thing called “policy”. I gradually moved over to that.
I’ve also spent a lot of time trying to help/work alongside people so that their voices are heard by the people who make decisions (small & large). Big A and little a advocacy, I suppose.
I’ve spent a lot of time being law-adjacent, giving info on people’s rights, along with clarity on systems and processes. Helping people get access to treatment (or discharged from it), housing, benefits, services etc, and then moving to campaigning/influencing for changes to the law.
