#2026books #11: Knife of Dreams, book #11 in the Wheel of Time.
"Will he ride alone?"
Goddamn, it was worth the slog. I've continued right into book #12. No spoilers please, I'm enjoying this.

I am betting it has similar effects on the creative spaces. Those who utlize it to 'help' brainstorm, write, draft, and edit will invariably produce a substandard product, certainly nothing bearing the name 'art.'
And that is our wonderful Egwene! Who should I whaleify next?
#WoTBookSpoilers I think this is a good representation of Egwene's ability and readiness to approach other Channelers not trained in the Tower to create their student exchange system.
Gray whales are also very curious and friendly, and will readily approach small boats. You can even take tours in Baja that get close enough for you to touch them (please don't harass wildlife).
Did you know that the splotches on gray whales are actually scars from parasites? Egwene may not have any visible scars, but her ability to bear trials from those surrounding her is as estimable. And some of the people around her are definitely parasites.
Egwene has a strong ability with weaving Earth. And wouldn't ya know it, gray whales feed on benthic (bottom) critters by scooping sediments into their mouths and filtering out their prey thru their baleen! Grays are one of the Earthiest whales.
Gray whales also have earned the moniker "devil fish" because they will fight back extremely aggressively when they are hunted or to protect their young. This fits Egwene's trauma response whenever she sees a Seanchan. #WoTBookSpoilers
Gray whales have the longest migration route of any mammal, with a round trip of over 10,000 miles (16,000 km)! Their journey is just as difficult as Egwene's as well, as they have to avoid their top predator, orcas.
A gray whale with its upper body above the water in a chin breach behavior. It is a dark grey with lighter colored spots all along its back and face.
Egwene has one of the longest journeys in her character arc; not so much in distance as in growth. We see her start as this sweet, determined, innocent girl into the badass Mother she becomes. Because of this journey, Egwene is a gray whale!
Poster for Egwene's character in season 3. She has the short hair. Her clothing fades from her blue Tar Valon outfit in the beginning of the season to the muted beiges of her Wise One apprentice outfit with the Aiel. The Tar Valon outfit dissolves into small petals, while the Aiel outfit dissolves into sand.
To celebrate the return of the series, I decided to whaleify one of the queens of our hearts, Egwene al'Vere!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD morning and happy #WoTWhalesDay! That's right, after a very long hiatus, I am going to bring this series back, baby! It may not be every week, but I will try to do this more often, at least until the fall. #TheWheelOfTime #WoTSkies
