I haven’t read the book, but I don’t think there’s a chapter where a character snorts psychoactive burger sauce through her eyelids, or work out their relationships in between rounds of shooting each other. I don’t think that happens in the seminal Sci-fi novel I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.
I think people make too much of TADC being inspired by I Have No Mouth. I’ve seen people try to use the book as a roadmap for the show, even when it contradicts its themes and tone. This colors the fans’ view of the show and makes them expect it to be something it isn’t. TADC isn’t an adaptation.

I completely agree. I have never once felt flattered or validated by someone treating what makes me different as something more profound or true than what’s considered normal. It’s patronizing and insincere.

I think this may have finally made this platform enjoyable. The weird porn is gone. The photos of birds are gone. The vtubers and their fanartists are back. My skin is clear. My soul is healing.
I’ve noticed about a few years ago my radio stations have stopped playing the version of that song with the demonic laughter.
This makes a lot of sense to me, starting from being as loose and general as possible before narrowing down into the details. Thanks for sharing, I’ll try this myself!

You’re right, but between their handle being “ArgueWithMe”, and their refusal to engage with what you’re saying, I think this is just someone who fills their empty life with being dumb on purpose for attention. They’ll never be convinced because they never believed in anything to begin with.

Speaking of tachyon, I saw a lotta people dogpile some rando on Reddit for their (admittedly uncharitable and ill-conceived) take on Pokke’s character for how she acted towards Tachyon. Like is this necessary? I don’t.
Like, is calling an Uma by their crown name really so bad? Like I get it for Agnes Digital and Agnes Tachyon because when you just say “Agnes” it’s like “which one?” But some people in the fandom take it like an indication that you’re some kind of impostor.
Getting into Umamusume has reminded me of how young fandom skews… people get hung up on the most random things. It makes me uncomfortable how sides of the fandom talk about each other.
