Good bye Orban. You will not be missed!

Hungary 1 : Orban-Putin 0. Way to go Hungary!
I'm hopeful. Less corruption, less Putyin, more Europe. That's good enough for me for a start...
There is a new version of the nom.tam.fits Java library (1.22.0) out, better than ever, with full support for FITS 4.0. It is also available through Maven Central. #astrocode

The verdict of Google's AI search on the SuperNOVAS C/C++ astrometry library. It sounds about right... ;-)

The SuperNOVAS library introduces its C++API, bringing its high-precision astrometry into the modern era, and providing an intuitive interface that is on par with astropy. Check it out the first preview today. The finalized release is expected in May. #astrocode

The armed and untrained racist vigilantes of ICE doing airport security... Agents with no background checks... What could possibly go wrong?
The new high-level C++ API of the SuperNOVAS astrometry library is inching closer by the day. It will enhance SuperNOVAS with a brand new API that will be on par with astropy in terms of simplicity and elegance, only much-much faster. Stay tuned! #astrocode

When do we (in the US) start pretending that this is normal?
"Dear Norway, I want to let you know that it was only the promise of the Nobel Prize that kept me from being a raging lunatic. Since you (or the committee you don't control) denied me, I have no choice but to obliterate you and anyone on your side." -- The Orangenscheissfuehrer
The Orange Moron is clinically insane. There is no other explanation for the letter he wrote to Norway's government. It could be seen as childish and comic, but the reality of it is rather scary because of the power invested in him. Time for the 25th amendment? (for real this time...)
For the sake of greater transparency, ICE should be renamed to Gestapo...
Of course it was about the oil all along...
It is also available via Homebrew (from attipaci/pub). Fedora, EPEL, Debian linux packages are coming soon, as is the updated vcpkg distribution.

House Republicans are working hard to replace Obamacare with "Trump doesn't care", making healthcare unaffordable for millions, and a real hassle also. Get ready for browsing providers' price lists for hours before seeking urgent care, only to find you cannot afford any of it.
Are cryptocurrencies trending towards their intrinsic value of 0?
Tesla and Musk are betting on everyone wanting Humanoid robots folding their laundry. Apart from the fact that most people could not affort one, would you really want a creepy and strong robot lurking around at night? As much as I'm love tech, I don't think I could sleep...
SuperNOVAS 1.5.0 high-precision C/C++ astrometry library is released, with new functionality, improved portability (Windows, MacOS, FreeBSD...), and CMake support. It is now available through the vcpkg registry and Homebrew also. #astrocode smithsonian.github.io/SuperNOVAS/
It's barely October, for Christ's sake...
Apparently, I'm still in the top 1% of Java developers, which is surprising given how little Java I've been writing lately, mostly churning out C these days...
More good things are cooking for the SuperNOVAS astrometry library. The November release will add CMake build support, enabling MacOS, Windows, and FreeBSD builds. Plus new features, which make it more versatile and easier to use than ever. #astrocode

Bad English is the Lingua Franca of the world, lol. ๐
It should be, but since it's based on an earlier software named NOVAS, it cannot be helped...
The SuperNOVAS C/C++ astrometry library just got another bug fix release (v.1.4.2). It updates the nutation models from the original IAU2000A to IAU2006 (a.k.a. IAU2000A_R06). Linux RPM and Debian packages are on their way also. #astrocode smithsonian.github.io/SuperNOVAS/
SuperNOVAS bug notice: The 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 releases contain a bug in the nutation model, resulting in typical errors at the 0.1 milliarcsecond level. A fix is readily available in the GitHub repo and the v1.4.2-rc1 release candidate also. Mea culpa. #astrocode github.com/Smithsonian/...
What a special time to be alive. We get to witness the unfounding of the United States...
