‼️ The State Department has REMOVED TQIA+ on their page of recommendations for queer travelers. This page yesterday said "LGBTQIA+" and now just says "LGB".

The federal government is trying to erase trans people from existence.

My latest over on EITM - covering a cruel court ruling that's forcibly detransitioning trans Floridian inmates.

This doesn't just mean ceasing HRT - it also means forcing trans women to wear men's clothes and to shave their hair, a tactic used historically to dehumanize the marginalized.

Chapter 4 This chapter no longer includes any worked examples of direct discrimination against a trans person. Gender reassignment is the only one of the eight protected characteristic covered by this draft Code not to be given a worked example in Chapter 4. Please include at least one example of direct discrimination against a trans person in Chapter 4 of any updated Code of Practice. Chapter 5 There are no worked examples in this section showing indirect discrimination towards a trans person. Taken together, this means that in this draft Code of Practice, there are no worked examples involving trans people for: direct discrimination (Chapter 4), indirect discrimination (Chapter 5), harassment (Chapter 8), victimisation (Chapter 9), positive action (Chapter 10), services and public functions (Chapter 11), or associations (Chapter 12). Please include examples involving trans people in at least some of these chapters.

Heads up! The EHRC are rewriting the Statutory Code of Practice to the Equality Act in a way that seriously waters down protections for 🏳️‍⚧️ folk.
