Hey man how did they get you?

This is rich. Connie Chan says she “built real affordable housing, not the Sacramento version that destroys our neighborhoods.”
She points to new affordable housing on Geary: housing that she didn’t build but that *was* built using “Sacramento version” housing laws & $52M in state funds. 🧵
Shit, I’m an over 50 Chinese American YIMBY who lives in the NIMBY paradise of Laurel Village/Jordan Park. Every time I get an email from the neighborhood association, I call my reps and tell them to Manhattanize San Francisco.
*places the "this is not a place of honor" sign on the city of San Francisco and walks into the sea*
Govee makes pretty decent pretty lights (often with local control options).
I take public transportation 95% of the time. I really only do Waymo or Uber if I’m in a hurry so the premium is not that high.
For my tween daughter taking a ride by herself to get across town, I’m willing to pay up to a 500% premium for safety alone.
I’m generally willing to pay +50% the price of a Uber for a driver that won’t try to make small talk, will generally follow traffic rules, and doesn’t require a tip.
lol I'm sorry, but the idea that Chinese groceries are "high quality" is fucking hilarious. China has a famously bad food storage chain and the Chinese press and public are full of constant complaints! Food poisoning/diarrhea are so common that they're a regular work excuse.
