I don’t particularly agree with the tactic, Callum is always going to want to cut inside so you need the threat outside him. But he is clearly being told to make those inside runs and to occupy the middle when Anderson pushes higher into the half space

Think it’s so they can sustain pressure by having two players (Williams and Sangare) screening in front of the two centre backs. If the ball bounces out then they can recover it and play out wide
