Michael Gungor just announced via Instagram Live that he might be doing the Liturgists Podcast again. As much as I loved the Liturgists, as meaningful and formative as it was to me, its demise was painful to watch, as if I were witnessing a divorce.

Pride Month is over and I take time to reflect. Being bisexual and a Christian often seems like an oxymoron to both the Queer and Christian community. However, this is what I am: a bisexual Christian. Defending both of those positions is normally an act of futility.

If your church has an American flag in your sanctuary, you have erected a statue of Zeus in your temple.

Is my faith based on a lie? That’s the question. Isn’t it?

Progressive Christianity has also become politicized and IMO is no longer about Jesus, but about standing against Trump.

I understand the need to unite against fascism. I hear little about how this relates to what Jesus taught. I hear little about spiritual practices we can do to help us during this time.

I’m weary of politics. I go to a progressive church and right now that’s what I hear: How to stand up against the fascism coming towards us.

Today was a good run.

Conversion therapy is harmful. It doesn’t work.

I met a young gay man two days ago who was raised in a conservative Christian home. One night he came home and told his family that he was gay. They forced him to undergo conversion therapy (a debunked therapy that tries to turn people straight).

I love how the communion cup presented in our worship image is virtually identical to the Holy Grail from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."
