We will hold two online open evenings for more information about the scholarships and programme on the 15th of April (4:30pm) and 19th of May (4:30pm). Get in touch for a link to the events.
We currently have scholarships available for our MA in STEM education, funded by our partners Wipro.
The scholarships cover 70% of fees and applications for the scholarships close in June.
Do you work as a secondary/FE science teacher in the UK?
Have you seen this? 👀
If you can spare the time, please fill in this short survey 👇

And congratulations again on your graduation Niki 🎓!
If anyone wants any information on the scholarship or the MA STEM Education, feel free to give me a shout. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and was so pleased to graduate two weeks ago.
A final call for applications for our KCL Optics Ambassadors Scheme which closes on Monday - details for students to apply are below:
With Wonyong Park and the ASE, we are running a survey on science teachers' use of research to inform teaching.
If you are a science teacher, please consider taking 10-15 minutes to complete the survey. Participants may opt into a prize draw.

This sounds amazing!
Fascinating example of data that we didn't know we had - organ tuning notes show climate changes www.theguardian.com/environment/... cc @rbrockphysics.bsky.social @drwilkinsonsci.bsky.social
It makes me think of the troubling graph of peak cherry blossom time in Japan: ourworldindata.org/data-insight...
What an interesting (and sad in respect of the impacts of climate change change) story @teachingofsci.bsky.social. I hadn't heard of organ tuning books - what a great historical record. The data in Bingley, Knight and Xing's paper is striking: www.researchgate.net/publication/...
Whilst he was in the camp, he wanted to continue his research, and the only source he could access was ... radioactive toothpaste! www.ww1.manchester.ac.uk/sir-james-ch...
As stories tend to do, there is a nice link here - at the outbreak of the First World War, James Chadwick was working in Berlin and was placed in an internment camp.
Interesting Joe - I hadn't come across the Radio-Active Solar Pad - cool story! Thank you.
If you know any physics teachers or female Y12 students, please pass on this link to advertise the KCL Optics Ambassadors Scheme - an outreach programme to support girls' interest in optics and studying physics at university - applications are now open: www.kcl.ac.uk/events/optic...
The Wipro MA STEM Education scholarships are now open for students starting the programme in September 2026.
STEM teachers working in state schools are eligible for the scholarships which cover 70% of fees.
For more information see: www.kcl.ac.uk/study-legacy...
The next CRESTEM seminar takes place on the 12th November 2025 14:30 to 15:30 in G/8 of the Waterloo Bridge Wing.
Michele Mele will explore the stories of some remarkable scientists with low or no sight throughout history. For more information and to register see:

My academic group at KCL, the Centre for Research in Education in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CRESTEM), is recruiting a 0.4 lecturer in chemistry education. The role starts in January so has a relatively short application period: www.kcl.ac.uk/jobs/124385-...
Congratulations on your submission- a huge achievement! Very well done Nikki!
Great - thank you - the direct link works - many excellent teaching ideas in the presentations - thank you for your work collating the ideas
Thank you Simon - your resources are fantastic - I like the presentations you have produced with the Ogden Trust - they are a wonderful resource (I have looked over the presentations before, but this morning, the link for the waves presentation fails to open for me).
The 1st of these online workshops for ⭐SCIENCE / MATHS TEACHERS ⭐ is THIS THURS! Prof Jeanne Wilson is fab & has a knack for explaining neutrinos while nailing tricky questions!
