Grocery stores across the country are switching from traditional printed labels to electronic shelf labels (ESLs), enabling them to change prices in an instant. It does not need to be this way. Policymakers can step in to ban the use of ESLs.

Mother's Market workers want to organize a union in their workplace to protect and advocate for their rights as workers. Last week, they made their message loud and clear to management with the support of local community organizations and electeds.
“Supporting union workers should be common sense at this point, but seeing how our employer is propped to be against us is kind of disheartening,” [said Moc Ahn Nguyen, a cashier at Mother's Markets.] Read the full store at the Los Angeles Times here: www.latimes.com/socal/daily-...

We have reached a tentative agreement with Albertsons! We believe that this agreement meets our key issues - an additional pension so we can retire with dignity, wages to keep up with the cost of living in Southern California, and vacation accruals that we’ve earned.

Faster line speeds could lead to more injuries for workers & less time for inspectors to catch contaminated meat before it leaves the plant.
Workers and consumers should not pay the price for corporate greed.

We are stronger together!
There are too many workers in Southern California who don’t have the benefit of a union. UFCW 324 is working to change that for workers at Mother’s Market. Today, workers at Mother's Markets held a rally calling for a union to address low pay, chronic understaffing, and poor scheduling.

Albertsons and Ralphs left our bargaining session in March afraid to share a wage proposal because we would call it insulting. They were right. Today they showed us the offensive offer – just $1 in the first year, $0.75 cents in the second, and $1 in the third!
