FDR won in 1932. 94 years ago is well within the rounding range of describing something as being 100 years ago.

Mamdani: "What are we fighting for?. When you look back at the history books of our party, 100 years ago we had a very clear vision of what we were fighting for. It's sad that for too many Americans, when they want to look for ambition in the Democratic Party, then have to turn to a history book."

DOJ demands Detroit-area 2024 ballots, escalating election scrutiny DOJ official Harmeet K. Dhillon wrote that she is seeking ballots to investigate election law compliance. Democratic state officials call the request baseless.

Breaking WaPo:

The Trump Justice Department is now demanding all ballots from the 2024 election in the Detroit area — a highly unusual move that comes shortly after prosecutors seized 2020 ballots in Georgia and obtained 2020 election records in Arizona.

Two pages from The Philosopher in the Valley: Alex Karp, Palantir, and the Rise of the Surveillance State by Michael Steinberger.

The highlighted section reads:
"But what was perhaps Karp’s most notorious interview was with someone who got the job. Louis Mosley was an Oxford graduate who had hoped to pursue a political career in Britain. But his family history made that an impossibility: his grandfather was Oswald Mosley, the British fascist leader during World War II, and his grandmother was Diana Mitford, one of the famous Mitford sisters and who is best remembered for her close friendship with Hitler. A group of historians once named Oswald Mosley the worst Briton of the twentieth century, and while Louis had rejected his grandparents’ views, his surname proved to be an insurmountable liability—Conservative Party insiders
ultimately made clear that they would never be able to put him up for office because he was tainted by association.

Through a friend, he was introduced to Palantir, and after several rounds of interviews, he flew to Palo Alto to meet with Karp. As soon as Mosley took a seat, Karp began reciting a fiery speech that Oswald Mosley gave in 1939 demanding that Britain seek peace with Nazi Germany. (“Our generation shall not die like rats in Polish holes. They shall not die but shall live to see above their heads the English sky, to feel beneath their feet the English soil, and to enjoy the fair English countryside….”) Karp didn’t just repeat a few sentences; he went on
for minutes, reproducing the speech from memory. Mosley sat in stunned silence. When Karp finished, he executed a few tai chi moves and walked out of the room without saying goodbye. A shaken Mosley figured that his family’s dark past had torpedoed him again. But it hadn’t: he was hired and ended up running Palantir’s UK business."

One of the more insane facts about palantir is Louis Mosley the grandson of wannabe British hitler Oswald Mosley, is the head of palantir's UK branch. youtu.be/IOekgrWfJxE?...

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

U.K. Authority Says Iran Fired Upon Tanker Near Oman; Crew Reported Safe
By

Saleh al-Batati
U.K. Maritime Trade Operations said it had received a report that two gunboats belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had fired on a tanker about 20 nautical miles northeast of Oman. The U.S. military is tracking Iranian attacks on two non-U.S. vessels, according to a senior U.S. official, who didn’t elaborate.

The incident reported to UKMTO Saturday would mark the first time a vessel has come under Iranian fire since the cease-fire put in place between the U.S. and Iran earlier this month.

According to the vessel’s master, the boats didn’t issue a VHF radio challenge before opening fire. The tanker sustained no reported casualties, and all crew members are safe. Authorities said an investigation into the incident is under way, according to UKMTO, which is affiliated to the Royal Navy.

The British military says a cargo vessel was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz, damaging containers on board. The attack is the second on Saturday, after two gunboats from Iran’s Revelatory Guards opened fire on a tanker transiting the key waterway.

Notice how we just get this detail w/no explanation how this happened if, as Whiskey Pete and Donald Trump have claimed over and over, Iran's entire military was sunk?

It's not even a drone or a fishing boat, at least as described.

The other day, we watched Republicans celebrating tax day.

They learned nothing from 2024. Democrats leaned on “strong numbers” and ignored people’s lived experience.

Now it’s worse. Republicans are celebrating crumbs while people are in pain.

Ignore lived experience, get punished at the polls.
