Startled enough by having my "millennial from Massachusetts" mind read at the 11th hour of the free bread article that I blushed alone in my apartment

Sure! To be honest I can't really vouch for the quality of the book beyond the most basic stuff, but it may be worth checking out since one of its zillion other methods might be more applicable

Ok so warning, I have no real idea what I'm talking about. But if you don't get more knowledgeable replies, in Creative Mending by Hikaru Noguchi there is a specific example for doing a wool blanket with felted wool + darning over to blend with the original color, I can send the pages if you'd like

Sad to hear about Hampshire, they aren't perfect but I benefited enormously from going to a nearby College Like That that closed in 2020. It's impossible for these places now but I'd expected/hoped Hampshire would outlast us a bit longer than that

You best start believing in stories where it's too hot at night to sleep with a weighted blanket... you're in one!

Ok I decided it would be really good for me to take a couple weeks off from using this site but I just had to free myself of that insanely stupid Big Thief post first. Ok bye :( ok I'll miss your posts :( see you bye :(

Receptionist on the phone: Let me just, ok. You said "Big Thief"...? Ok... (45 seconds of typing) Ok. And how big?

Facebook Marketplace loves to tell you that Lindsay from Frackingburgsburg, PA wants to sell you a medium-sized planter for $20. Well if only it were that simple.

The music of Gillian Welch has been enriching my life ever since I got Time (The Relevator) on CD 20 years ago from the library I worked at as a teen on the recommendation of the reference librarian I had an adolescence-defining crush on. You enjoy the hell out of that curry for me, okay?

I can't find the post but a couple months ago I went to Gillian Welch's instagram after thinking something reverent about her. Latest post was a tranquil black and white landscape and the caption was like "we're on tour and I just had the best massaman curry of my life"

If I were a character in a turn-based game and it became my turn I would probably say something like “My turn now,” or “Guess it’s my turn, huh?”

In the future people will be blown away by the etymology, it'll be like, ok I can't think of another example but you know what I mean. By the way if The Guardian is a bad place to read the news or whatever please please do not tell me.

I mostly read world news from The Guardian which I get to by typing "theg" into the browser bar and letting it autocomplete. This gives rise to the word "theg", by now both a verb ("to check the news") and a command ("tell me the news")

She wants to stay up late chatting and gossiping. It's a school night!

(Repeatedly clicking on Trump with the wrong item selected in your inventory) “I don’t know anything about that.” “Fake news.” “I didn’t know that. You’re telling me now for the first time.” “It’s crazy what’s happening.”

I started tracking recipes with a set of .md files that I edit in VSCode and my writing style is so chill and humble that Copilot keeps suggesting stuff like ", but I'm not really sure about that." at the end of my instructions :(

Supposed to be a high of 41 tomorrow and the people who want to put Mother Nature in a box by posting the fool's spring etc season chart have already used up all their winters. So what now. Guess you don't have it all figured out after all!

One last thing I'll say about this, listeners should allow my strong identity as A Drummer to modulate how amazing you find the the chords etc going on here. Expectations would work well somewhere around "caveman discovers tonality"

I find sharing any of my creative output to be simply agony but where I've landed on it (partly sincerely, partly as a means to dampen the embarrassment) is that it's prosocial so you have to. It's slightly inconsiderate or irresponsible when you don't show us the little thing you made.
