My video about how LLMs are not search engines has led to many, MANY comments telling me that I should be using Perplexity. Some insisting that Perplexity does not hallucinate.
Out of a list of 26 papers it just provided me (in "Research" mode) 4 were real. FOUR. 85% hallucination rate.
Perfect way to end your weekend

🚨 I am sponsoring ONE person to join the March to Gaza on June 15. You must have availability to join from June 12 to 20.
I have prior engagement on those dates but want to ensure someone goes in my stead. If you can't go for financial reasons, hmu. More info: marchtogaza.net

Screenshot of terminal command reading $ curl --skip-existing -Z -K upub.txt and the curl output showing 11.1GB download for 60617 files taking 0:02:21, at an average speed of 80.9MB
curl's `-Z` flag with config file is amazing to do a whole bunch of downloads quickly.
60K files, 11GB, took only 0:02:21.
Only down side you have to build from source to get the `--skip-existing` flag.
Might do a blog post about all the neat stuff curl can do.

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Google joins the call to gut our legal protections, pushing for a world where Big Tech gets to profit from all your innovations & works for free, and that theft is ok’d by law.
No joke IF they get this, the US will likely face irreparable harm as pivotal creative economies crash.

Dang I'm excited about new semantic attr() capabilities in CSS!
I wrote a post about why this feature is so powerful, how it could change the way you build components, and how I would use it.
Advanced attr() is rolling out in Chrome 133 starting next week 🥰

Screenshot of the clippy rules documentation for needless_return The rule warrants against the use of the return keyword at the end of a block, and claims doing so will make the code more "rusty". Source: https://rust-lang.github.io/rust-clippy/master/index.html#needless_return
"Removing the return and semicolon will make the code more rusty."
This might be the most useless lint in clippy, it hurts readability more than it helps code be more "rusty".
