Down 19, on offense, picking up a T. I have a garage to clean.
I love you Sixers (I dont, actually) but you are not serious people.

yay
Are you suggesting this can get worse
Hell yea man! Well done. Wear that green jacket to Oscar's tonight you earned it.
The thing is, as a Sixers fan, I hate the Sixers more than anyone.
Lived on Harper Street right near his bar in 2007-2009. Wild, wild times.

Thank you, excellent answer.
Election laws fall under this, I would think.
Can you explain what you mean by this? I think I understand but I want to understand better, if not fully.
That's what the consensus seems. Get through Gunslinger and you're off. It's short enough, I may make mincemeat of it in a week, then take my time with the rest.
Insomnia wasnt on my Year of King reads, but maybe I can slide it in this summer.

Dark Tower Series next. God help me.
I'd be remiss if I didn't address the elephant in the room. The train run on Bev was... horrifying. In not the way I wanted.
I've read Clockwork. Lady Chatterly. Henry Miller's works, Ellis's attempts at shock. No prude here. But damn, that part with Bev... I dont want to ever read THAT again.
The rest of the stuff; the planning, the entire Henry story, Mike's interludes (I know these in particular are loved, felt shoe-horned to me) just didnt work
If it werent the main 4 of the Loser's Club interacting w/ IT, I was a bit disinterested. I read IT in a month, but struggled the last week.
The other time it works best is when anyone encounters IT. Bev as an adult going to her former home, falsely seeing her nameplate above the door. The bike ride escape with Bill & Eddie. Ben seeing IT on the frozen lake. That's horror.
The narrative structure, the back and forth, is beautiful. The juxtaposition between the grown protagonists and their childhood selves, really beautiful. The book works best contrasting a main character against themselves, their changes, growing
First and foremost, it's just too long. It's too long! The story doesn't warrant its length. Endless backstory about the town, the history. Stalling, so much stalling.
Just finished reading IT.
Quite the book.
In not the best way, I think.
Going in, I expected IT to be a masterpiece. So much acclaim, and the book has a unique place in our culture lexicon.
I'd go B-
Good, almost excellent. Not a masterpiece.
Hey @fetterman.senate.gov go fuck yourself you piece of shit.
So you're saying there's a chance
Replay by Ken Grimwood. Truly beget an entire genre, both literary and in film. Emotional, smart, witty, prophetic and a tight read.
Was so majestic, once upon a time
Wait, this cant be real
This is art
I really liked it. Thought the end justified much of the film, and was a bold (in a good way!) choice. Gotta say, its my fave of the year, though I havent seen Hamnet.
As a Sixers fan, I can imagine, vividly
