Indigenous Food Reciprocity as a Model for Mutual Aid For centuries, Native communities have focused on the collective rather than the individual. Here’s what we can learn from them.

"This idea of reciprocity extends far beyond humans, beginning in the natural world around us. It is a worldview informed by abundance and mutual existence—not scarcity and competition—where gratitude trumps greed." civileats.com/2025/03/03/i...

While we wait for all the snow to melt and the ground to soften so we can put up our greenhouse, we are gardening (mostly) indoors. We have another batch to start in March and hopefully by then the greenhouse will be ready so we can transfer all the brassicas outside. What seeds are you sowing?

This has seriously been the longest winter ever! As we head towards spring, it’s a wonderful time to start stocking up on herbs that stoke your digestive fires, support your immune system, nourish your skin, and build a healthy foundation.
Please reach out if you have any questions!

This area was covered in bush honeysuckle and multiflora rose.

Y’all we did so good this year! Not only did I organize, sort and catalog our existing seed stash, I only bought a very small number of new seeds this year. Look at the color! Alliance of Native Seedkeepers is an amazing company to purchase seeds from.
