Fargo - Mike Yanagita
Fargo - Mike Yanagita YouTube video by Larry Turhower

Fargo is 30.
This is one of the best scenes in all of the Coens’ movies but I remember so many people at the time it came out thinking that it was completely pointless. Obviously, it isn’t but I won’t bang on about it here. McDormand and Park are superb together. youtu.be/r_Ge4F4E9JE?...

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

Netflix Backs Out of Bid for Warner Bros., Paving Way for an Ellison Takeover

The richest man owns X.

The second and third richest men control Google.

The fourth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fifth richest man owns The Washington Post.

And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

See the problem here?

Chalamet is gonna be down more than 14 cents when it occurs to him that his dumb mouth cost him an Oscar. He’s a great actor but as a comrade has pointed out, there’s a reason he’s dating a Jenner.

Wonderful obit for legendary comics colorist Tatjana Wood in NYT.

Here she is holding her Eisner Hall of Fame Award in 2023. This photo makes me SO happy. Just look at that smile! Even at age 96, she knew what that honor meant.

Look at this ignorant moron try to answer a question about his own beliefs. Racists don't actually know anything, they just.... believe things.

R.I.P. Robert Duvall: Great in the movies you already know, and great in some you may not have seen Here we present five Duvall deep cuts — pictures that didn’t get cited in detail in the mainstream obits.

In which I recommend some Robert Duvall deep cuts: decider.com/2026/02/17/r...

Duvall had an innate sense of how to physically embody a character in terms of body language, posture and gestures.
I didn’t even notice that he didn’t duck for cover first time I saw Apocalypse Now.
If felt completely right that Kilgore wouldn’t flinch or be put out by explosions as he was war.

Unconvinced by Bogart as a cowboy but he would have been a great Gomez Addams.

Smoke (1995). Paul Benjamin sees his deceased wife in Auggie's photo album.
Smoke (1995). Paul Benjamin sees his deceased wife in Auggie's photo album. YouTube video by Canal de Vídeo y Música

It’s Wayne Wang’s birthday.
Smoke is a beautiful movie.
This wonderful scene inspired one of my Film students to do what Auggie does with his camera every day for his A Level Photography project.
And of course, there’s the moment with Paul that the clip title refers to:

Bruce Wayne / Batman Has a Conversation With Himself
Bruce Wayne / Batman Has a Conversation With Himself YouTube video by loomyaire

The Batman tv show is 60.
Adam West should have got an Emmy for this scene alone.
I love DeNiro, Washington, Day-Lewis etc but none of them have had an acting challenge like this.

Fox Producer: Jesse Watters would like to invite you on his show

AOC: He has sexualized and harassed me on his show.

FP: That’s not true

AOC: He accused me of wanting to sleep with Stephen Miller. So why don’t you tell me what you think is acceptable to tell a woman.

This is what people on Fox are like. People watch Fox because they like this.

Your daily reminder that having to do this radiates weakness, not strength. Yes, there are people who will buy this. But if they thought enough people were going to buy it, they wouldn’t have to do this.

They have to do the hard sell precisely because they know how many people aren’t buying it.

That press briefing by JD Vance on the killing of Renee Good was one of the most disgraceful things I've ever seen, and pretty much a clear exercise in Orwellian gaslighting.
