Two generations of precipitates of ilmenite and apatite in garnet. PPol, fov=1cm, entirely within one growth sector of a single garnet crystal. Normal to the growth face lies in the plane of the section. First generation (coarse) follows included fabric NW-SE, second generation (streaks) are submicron crystals decorating unannealed growth dislocations. Note depletion haloes.

Yes this rock was once a beach sand containing very rare >4by zircon crystals that weathered out of a long-gone hunk of truly ancient crust. The individual crystals can be dated. Huge effort has gone into finding more of the >4by ones.

No there was no unusual pressure in the *Hadean*
Your specimen is apparently a bit of Jack Hills Quartzite,
ca. 3.0 billion years old.
There is an extremely small possibility that your specimen happens to include any zircon crystals of Hadean age.

A mentor of mine was bothered by a particularly egregious error in a presentation, and asked the young speaker “are you a faculty member or a graduate student?”.

“I am faculty” in a haughty tone.

“Then I will proceed with my question”.

This was the plan from the start, and it’s why we haven’t been shown any real plans. The purported size of the ballroom was always incompatible with the continued existence of the entire East Wing.

Diamond forms during low pressure serpentinisation of oceanic lithosphere | Geochemical Perspectives Letters

Some caution may be necessary. Could really be that not all microdiamond is UHP.
