This is terrible news. There is only one outfitter in Grand Marais that will issue permits. Not sure about Ely. But, this is a huge obstacle in visiting the Boundary Waters.

I was wondering if it would remain closed. Biscuit Basin is one of my faves in the park! There’s a trail off the backside to Mystic Falls that we love. Now, we’ll use an alternative route south of the basin to hike to the falls. But, I know this route can close for frequent bear activity. #ParkChat

We looked at the hard cover Roof Nest. It’s pretty slick. I love how quick and easy it is. And a pretty large area to sleep! I still think it might be in our future. It would be an economical way to travel for a few months at a time after retirement. It would pay for itself quickly. #parkchat

It’s been quite a few years since we used it. I’m sure it has changed and been upgraded. I may try it again in Yellowstone and the surrounding area this summer. It’s definitely the way to go for remote areas! #parkchat
