Jackie Robinson grew up in a diverse Pasadena neighborhood, & when one of those neighbors, his baseball teammate Shig Takayama, was incarcerated at Manzanar with his family, the Robinsons helped take care of their home. For my new column, a story of the worst & best of America through baseball. 🗃️

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is ready for launch! Once operational it will help us see further into the depths of our universe than ever before.
This revolutionary telescope was assembled by the team at NASA Goddard, right here in MD, ahead of schedule & under budget.
This is straight up, Nazi "dual state" shit. If a naturalized citizen commits a crime, we have mechanisms in place to hold them accountable. It's called the legal system and it applies to all of us. This extra targeting of only *some* people accused of crimes is part of a broader, expulsive project.
If you're a journalist who was planning to go to the WHCD, you can still change your mind.

Wendy Vega Lores dreams of becoming a pediatrician. She finished high school in two years and began intensive prep to become a doctor.
She has a pending asylum case. On her 19th birthday, ICE detained her anyway. She has been locked away for 10 months.
The new list of North America's Top 50 Bars is out. Congratulations to DC's Press Club for debuting at no. 34. Service Bar is ranked no. 39.

JUST IN: Virginia adopted a new law yesterday to forbid sheriffs & local police from contracting with ICE — if ICE doesn't say it'll follow state laws & agree to let its agents be prosecuted.
Everyone seems to agree ICE won't promise that, and that this spells the end of ICE contracts in Virginia.
There should be regulations and company protocol to make such things impossible, short of a major natural disaster causing some unforeseen situation.
Elizabeth Williamson once wrote about me, and I can attest she's a skilled, thorough, and honest reporter. If you're in the public eye, you should expect journalists to write about you—especially if you hold public office.
Kash Patel is pure garbage, even when he's sober.
Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

Georgia's women's tennis team is the new Waldo and whatnot.
HUGE scandal if true. Laura Loomer got Marco Rubio to throw two Iranian women with green cards in ICE jail to be stripped of status and deported, claiming they were related to Qasem Soleimani.
Official documents provided to @dropsitenews.com appear to show they are NOT related; they're innocent.
This will not end well for the Navy, or the US

Trump's nominee for Fed chair, Kevin Warsh, had his confirmation hearing yesterday. He needed to answer 2 questions:
1) Is Trump’s criminal investigation into Powell appropriate?
2) What would Warsh do if Trump threatened retribution against *him* as well?
He couldn't answer 1. Wasn't even asked 2.
this is how Utah's Congressional map deals with Utah's largest city, cracking it through to the middle into 4 different districts in order to deny it Congressional representation to make sure Dems get 0 seats
A lot of public service work is task specific, i.e. there is not a big private market for it. So one logic for civil service protections to recruit and retain people who see it has their career, and invest in improving their expertise. Harder to do that now.

And the Supreme Court is sitting on a Alito-authored decision that could throw 19+ minority-majority districts in the South to the GOP in this election or the next, in blatant defiance of a Voting Rights Act overwhelmingly renewed by. Republican Congress.

The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
