Staff at a Twin Cities yarn store put together a pattern for a red knit “Melt the ICE” hat inspired by the Norwegian resistance.
They thought they would attract 10 people to a weekly knit-along.
They’ve sold 70,000 copies, raising more than $250k for immigrant aid groups.

Yeah!
Is there a cool phonetic/phonological story to be told about the interchangeability of Hamnet/Hamlet?
In Korean, the expression I know (목청껏) refers to vocal cords. It uses a particle that means like "to the extent possible", and so it's roughly "pushing my vocal cords to the brink".
in Russian we have "yelling with all my throat"
Haha exactly
I’m doing a live thing in two weeks, come hang out
Overheard someone talking about “mentopause” earlier today and what kind of process is this????? Hunter/hunner gone wild.
New eggcorn out now
A tangent, but I missed the renaming of Oliver. That seems huge!
Ooh! This is cool
Nice!
Dutch has 'uit volle borst zingen' (singing out of full chest), meaning singing loudly/enthusiastically, which seems similar if a little more restricted in application (I don't think I know it to be used for shouting, just singing)
In English we say “at the top of my lungs” to mean “as loud as I can”. Do other languages have similar phrases? Do they refer to lungs or some other body part? Or use a different metaphor entirely?
Taking one of these apology shaped objects as meaningful is *just as much a huge red flag* as thinking any of its other output is meaningful.
It's a sign you've got the exact same brainrot as the guys calling it their girlfriend.
Then mid, then theatrical
Tried again and got the same thing 😫
Sounds right

Weekly Georgian Etymology: მეკვლეობა Meḳvleoba 'First-foot (tradition)', from Middle Georgian მეკვლე meḳvle hunter, tracker from Old Georgian ႩႳႠႪႨ ḳuali trace, step, from Georgian-Zan *ḳwal- step. It draws its name from superstitions surrounding the New Year's first visitor.

Oh, you're adding 1 to a number at midnight? Great fun, is it? I add 1 to numbers all the time but you don't see me making a big deal out of it, but have fun I guess with your math holiday
What a waste of time and resources.
Pursuit of profit makes life bad. Let us have nice things! Healthcare! National rail! Council flats! Rent controls!
I am 100% in favour of renationalising passenger rail services, but PLEASE can we stop the stupid cycle of building good things, dismantling them, then rebuilding them again??
AI and algorithms have driven me off the internet. Miss you, but can’t stand the robots anymore.

Some private equity firm is going do the most evil possible thing with this data and that was always how this was going to end.
The promise of AI in education is it will save educators time. That's rubbish. It's sapping all our time already in working groups, committees, workshops, and marking anxiety. It's the most time-sapping, exhausting and frankly boring thing I've ever encountered in HE - and it's in my research area.
Unique to America, our health care system is designed not to make people well, but to make CEOs & wealthy stockholders incredibly rich. The result: We have the highest infant mortality rate of any wealthy country on earth. How cruel, how immoral is that? We need Medicare for All.
