Following up to this - I think that high house price raise traps us. We end up thinking we need on this for wealth, but a growing wage is better for economy (wage = you can spend this on everyday stuff. You can't pay for your shopping with a projected increase in house price)

As a homeowner I would like to say "good thing" but in reality the answer is too simple. If it's rising faster than wages etc are, then it's a bad thing. I have kids and they'll like to buy a house, it's harder than ever for them. And as long as it goes up faster than wage, it's getting worse.
