It’s obviously more than just revenge of the nerds but when you hear Karp, Thiel, Luckey etc speak you can’t not be reminded of the fact that there is a deep disdain and misanthropy rooted since childhood in many of these people, capitalism is how they get their revenge.
Materialist in me sees this as obvious tough posturing for the sake of getting as much investment and fed contracts as possible, but there are powerful people in all lines of tech in particular who wear their personal grievances & insecurities on their sleeves with such transparency it’s laughable.

these issues are systemic and blaming a band or shitty agency for exploiting these systemic problems is pointless. the solution requires regulation from a governing body, but in the meantime we can make conscious choices as to what we listen to next and where we find it.
at the end of the day, the main channels of comms on the internet have rotted from the inside and are conducive only to antisocial behavior. so remember, music is an inherently social art. so find a way to be social.
